Serial number help

Im not sure if this is the right thread to be under, but i have a problem, and its too late to ask customer service reps.

Two years ago i bought a polk product, the db-212's, and like them very much. And then, some year after that, while in my trunk, they got scratched the crap up, so i can distinguish them from any other that i have ever seen. Now, to the present, over the summer, they got stolen from my car along with my amp and some other stuff, and i thought i would never see them again. So i filed a police report and went along on my dismayed way.

To my surprise however, as i was looking for a new deck for my car, i noticed that my exact same pair of subs (with the same distinct scratches) has shown up in the same major corporation store that i bought them from (i live in a small town with only one of that corporation, so coincidence i think not). They dont even carry the db-212 series anymore, and it is a returned product, and they say they got the scratches from falling two feet onto carpet (the gouges are almost a centimeter deep, so BS). But for some reason they don't have any serial numbers for anything that they sell, or that gets returned, and they "don't know how they got it."

I have the serial number from the paperwork that came with the subs, but i dont know how to find the serial number on the actual subs to prove that they are mine. So im wondering if anyone knows how i can find the serial numbers of either of the woofers or the box to prove that its mine, because i dont know where to find them.

Thanks for reading, and thanks in advance for the help :(
