That's all for today. I did get everything up and running, but I didn't adjust anything at all. I am very impressed with my front stage at this point using the ID mids and the Dynaudio tweets. The only dissapointment I have are the subs. I am hoping they need time to break in because my low end really sucks right now. At frequencies under 40Hz, they distort easily and really sound weak. I am keeping an open mind because I have yet to adjust everything, but my sub amp gain is 1/2 way up at 4V right now, so maybe I need to work with that a little since my Alpine 9887 puts out about 4-5 volts at full volume/full sub control. I will try that tomorrow or Monday. I'll post some updates after I adjust everything a little. I am also planning to work on my A-Pillar tweets Monday, so maybe pics of those will be up also.
EDIT: I retract my statement on the subs, I was checking all my connections and settings and found that the subsonic filter was set too high on my sub amp. The low end is back in business!! -
Very cool

why does GLN305 have 2 pair of wires to each driver, instead of 1 pair of wires?

Not totally sure, but a better question to ask is why does he have untreated MDF in the doors of a chevy?

thnaks.GLN305 wrote:I'm taking a little different route than usual for the front stage wiring. I am using a two conductor wire for the tweeter (normal part) and a two conductor wire for each pole of the mid, one pair tied together for positive and one pair tied togehter for negative. I'm not sure if that explains what I am doing...lol.George Grand wrote: »

Im not sure that makes a difference or not. If you take 2 14 gauge wire, youve still got only 14 gauge wire for the signal to run thru so the resistance would be the same......wouldnt it? And lowering the resistance is the only reason I can see using a double wire like that. Plus, unless youve got 1000 watts running thru to each channel I dont see why youd need anything bigger than 14 gauge anyway.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

No, if you have 2 runs of 14awg, it would be the equivalent of around 11-12awg.

Going back to the good old water hose example. 2 water hoses will let more water go through than 1.
