I listened to the 7's at Fry's a few months ago.I was comparing them to the rti10's. They sounded much fuller than the 10's.I almost bought those instead of the lsi'9 but at the last minute decide it was to much speaker for my small space.I think you need more juice.Put a separate amp to those puppy's & they will come alive i bet.:D:D

Oppss re-reading i remember you already have a separate amp -- do you know of someone with a amp with more watts that you can try ?? maybe in the 300 wpc ??

My RTiA7's sound fantastic with my Hafler DH-220's measly 120 wpc. Big, full bass, great mids and crisp but not harsh highs. Great speakers. I'm not sure what's wrong with his setup that makes them so poor sounding. I have two subs that I use when I'm on HT mode because my Pioneer Elite lacks a little bottom end but in two channel with the Hafler they sound great. The speakers are on a switch so I can easily use them for Home Theater surround or two channel listening.

    Meirco,

So whats your point man? In post #95 you say "my jazz music sound pretty good on my rti A7" and then, three weeks later in post #118 out of the blue, you rant "polkaudio knows one thing: money. thats all. shameless audio compeny thats want only our money.
    wake up!!!"

Without a further explanation, I can only conclude that you're trolling for attention here.

So go buy some Bose & be happy.

It's not Polks fault that you have bad hearing or are simply used to listening to overblown bass bloated speakers & don't know good bass when you actually hear it!

I give them my money all the time. Well, I used to give them my money all the time. Now that I've got a sweet sounding 7 channel Polk Audio setup, I'm really content enjoying music and movies in my media room.

Maybe you might get some more empathy in the Klipsch forum.

Polk Audio is a company (as in profit based). They make speakers at different price points and offer a heck of a deal at each price point. Not sure who suggested you sell your LSi9's and get RTiA7's for 2 channel use, but they did not do you any favors (or did not understand your taste in music or desires from a speaker). I would blame them more than Polk Audio (who makes both speakers).

Maybe a vintage polk sound is more what you are looking for (that is where I would have pointed based on what you are saying in this thread) or maybe even a different manufacturer. While I am sorry the speakers do not produce the sound you like, they are still a good speaker for the price.

If bass is all that is missing and you like the rest of the speakers sound - maybe a decent sub will fill in the sound you think is missing. If you are done spending money, try placement (closer or further away from back or side walls) as well as a different room just to see if the room or placement could be the source of your issues.... You already own them, might as well see if there is a free fix to your issues.
    Mains.............Polk LSi15 (Cherry)
    Center............Polk LSiC (Crossover upgraded)
Surrounds.......Polk LSi7 (Gloss Black - wood sides removed and crossovers upgraded)
    Subwoofers.....SVS 25-31 CS+ and PC+ (both 20hz tune)
    Pre\Pro...........NAD T163 (Modded with LM4562 opamps)
    Amplifier.........Cinepro 3k6 (6-channel, 500wpc@4ohms)

Agreed. Lasareath got stuck in some choice discussion with this dude but moved on like all good Polkies should in those situations.

I wondered when this dude would eventually turn ugly again. Well, I guess Polk should close the doors and shut down the assembly line....we've lost someone.

I think you are not used to the tighter, lower distortion bass that the A7 provides. In the Lsi9 what you are hearing is more emphasis in upper bass, not deeper/controlled bass. This is a common mis-conception. I'm sure that if you try some music with very low bass passages, the A7 will redeem itself very nicely. There is a difference between an abundance of bass, and accurately reproduced bass.

You'll find that the better your equipment gets, the better it has to be. Sort of a viscious circle thing. I think if you try some very good audiophile recordings, you'll love the A7.

Best of luck, hang in there.

    Hi Polkseller

I am looking to buy the POLK Rti 7. I have short listed Denon 2113 & 2313. Which one of these would you suggest ?
