All I was listening to was Diana Krall singing "Jingle Bells"! I was stunned and asked those that were picking on me how in the hell they could see a woman like this:

diana_krall.jpg

and not be hung on every word or note that left her mouth?

Frickin' kids!

Geez, listen to me! Only 30 years old and already a crotchety old geezer!

It's a cryin' shame that Diana married a goober like Elvis Costello.

I like Diana Krall, she just needs to pump up here music... inject it with some speed or something.. i bet she can also belt out a nice song when needed to. C'mon Diana open those pipes up and show us what you can really do. While I like her music, I quickly get tired of it after about the 4 or 5th song.

John, you're old dude.. 30 and listening to music blue haired little old ladies listen to ;)

Elvis Costello is an extemely tallented musician and songwriter (singing is average) and it every bit as, if not more tallented (though not as good looking) than his wife.

Love her Christmas album. Quite the diva in concert. She came to Dallas in November(?) to play with the Dallas SO for a charity event. Seats were $1500(?) each or you could reserve your own table for $10,000.

Wish I could have made it. I love it when she sings with a symphony in the background (check out Live in Paris DVD).

I can't deny that Elvis Costello is talented, but just not my cup of tea. I like one or two of his hits but any other stuff I've tried I never got into. I like Diana Krall a lot better.

Elvis Costello is a much better song writer than a performer.

Ms. Krall has the talent, she just needs to expand out her
music a bit. She seems stuck in a rut. Like others, after a couple
of songs, I'm done. She just doesn't involve me in what she's singing.

Jane Monheit can really crank it up on some of her songs. There's a singer
that will brand you as over the hill!

Yeah, when some of my younger friends come over and hear some Jazz or blues playing,I get that " WTF are you listening to?" thing also.Seems like the younger crowd only listens to stuff that has a rap beat to it.And they are surprised when they find out I have some. But to me,the group that depic's what rap is and should be is Run DMC.Too clean for today's punks though.

I misspoke. My beef with Elvis Costello has nothing really to do with his talent, but with what he said a long time ago.
As I remember the story, he called Ray Charles "an ignorant, blind ****"-at which point Grace Slick punched him clean off his bar stool:eek::D:D
