    Hello,

Are these speakers still for sale? My wife is telling me my Klipsch Herersy's are just too big.

    Thanks,

    DS

I'm sorry I haven't updated this thread lately. Sale is pending at the present moment.

She says the Heresy's are too big??? Wow. I have a pair of those in my office and might be one of the smaller speakers I own. Man, she'd hate my SRS II's (in living room) and Altec Lansing Milano's (spare bedroom)!

I used to have a pair of JSE Infinite Slope 1.8a's, then "downgraded" to the Klipsch's due to size. Now, those are still too big. In your honest opinion, with the right amp, could the CRM-2's really produce the big, full sound I'm used to (used with a sub)?

On a separate issue, if Mr. Ayotte is implying I don't own Polk's, that's not true. I have a pair of 10's in another room, but thanks for the message anyway.

The issue is that there are rules to buy and sell in the for sale thread. Ultimately, it is up to the seller to determine if he'd like to sell to you before you meet the required post count. See the flea market rules at the top of the page.

The last time I read the rules, it was 25 posts until you could list something for sale. There was no minimum for a purchasing something off the forum.

Sale is pending to a fellow Polk member first and if anything changes, I'll repost.

This is correct, I just read through the rules thread. My bad, I thought it was 25 posts before you could post at all in the flea market. No implications here man, I actually don't own a set of Polks at the moment....

Are you going to use them for 2-channel only or are they going to tie in for HT duty, too? I think I may have the matching center channel, too.

What kind of sub are you going to use with them? You'd be surprised how good they sound on some things without the sub. Albeit...not a lot of low end but surprising.

I'm exclusively 2ch. at the moment, but I may go to HT again at some point....I don't have a sub anymore:( but if possible I would like another Super Junior, I think I could fit that somewhere in there....;)

The HRS series would match well with them, too. I have an HRS-12 and it's a darn nice sub for the money. I had the D-8 before and it's surprising what that little booger could do. A Super Junior would definitely work nice!

I love the Super Junior, and I kinda like the idea of matching Rosewood....I guess I am nerdy like that...:D

Nothing nerdy about that especially if they are close together. The HRS-12 I have is gloss black but is in another part of the living room and not close to the TV, etc. It is tied into the HT setup 95% of the time as I never need it for 2-channel with the SDA's. I did the old trick of setting the sub on the couch and ran a 40Hz tone thru it and found the "hot spot" in my living room. Once that was found, I put the sub there and tested it the same way with me sitting on the couch. Yep...that turned out to be a good place for it! I ran an RG6 cable from the wall plate behind the gear over to another wall plate where the sub is now which converts it back to RCA. Luckily, there was a 120v outlet within a couple feet of the sub.

Yeah, I'm thinking Super Junior in the corner, I've done it before with a cheap sub and it sounded the best there....My only concern is that it might be too powerful, but I think I can get the gain down far enough for the room...I had the same problem in the old place too, but part of it was placement...Man, that little **** can shake a house....:D

The first impression of these is AMAZING, but I am going to need a sub for the lower end...I'll get on them hard later and get a coherent review together....

Bill you have heard the "Truth" before and I know that this is comparing apples to pumpkins but do the ribbons sound remotely close to the full size ribbons?

The ribbons themselves are pretty similar, but the bass responce is WAY different.....A sub is a requirement, not an option with these. The ALS plats have a much larger soundstage from what I remember, but I think part of it is physical/visual presence as well...Incredible detail, hell it made me kinda pissed because a couple of albums I listened to on a regular basis now sound kinda poopy on these, they were mastered like crap and it REALLY shows on the ribbons.....Now it's on to find a sub....:D
