SDA SRS 2.3TL's

Hate to do it but it's time, I purchased these from unc2701 from here at CP about a year ago. They are in just as good shape as when i recieved them.

Grills are in great shape, tops and bottoms are also. There seems to be a watermark on the top of the right hand speaker, but its not visible, only barely there to the touch. And a single little scratch on the front of one of the tops. Again very hard to see and i would have to show it to you for you to see it. And i will in pictures.

They have the original tweeter's (sl3000's) as I never thought them to be bright, and the original cable to connect them. I will also include an extra tweeter that i had purchased incase one had gone bad.

These will be for pickup only, unless you want to hire a freight company to come pick them up and package them for you. I dont have a truck or suv so delivery isnt possible. Remember that these are 150+ pound speakers, so they are a bit heavy.

Ok as far as cost, they dont have the original jumpers but i can make some for em and i would let them go at $850, or i could throw in a set of Signal Cable Ultra Bi-wire's and look for $950. The cable's are between 10-12 ft, very long and nice sounding cable's.

Also, my rating counter thing says zero, but i have bought from 5-6 member's here, offered a double Karma, chipped in for a charity on CP's behalf and donated a cell phone to another member, If i need to I will dig up the threads and ask the sellers to verify transactions.

Now for some pics. These pics are all i have at the moment, but i will be able to take more later on tonight and post em.

And these are of course open to audition for anyone local or willing to make the drive.

Sure, also if you would like for someone to come over to verify the condition I wouldn't mind. I believe we have a few polkies that are local to me that may not mind.

Whatever i can do to make it a comfortable transaction for anyone, I will.

I will let you know for sure by tomorrow. If you have an immediate local sale I would not be offended if you sold!

I can also verify the condition :)

...especially since they appear to have not moved an inch since I saw them last. If they sell local & someone needs help trucking them around RTP, I'll be glad to help out.

    Dave,

I am going to have to pass. I was planning a mini-vacation and the wife is not interested in driving to the east coast. I think it is her way of saying not another pair of those things in our house.

Good luck with your sale and thanks for the offer!

What tweeters are installed? Have the crossovers been updated? If so what brand caps and resistors were used?

    Thanks,

I can't speak to what Dave's done with them, but here's their history up to when i sold them to him:

I got them completely stock from the original owner; he was stationed in Germany and got them there in 1993?, then shipped home. There was one dust cap on a MW pushed in- I replaced this one and the mirror on the other speaker with a pair I got from Mark & IRRC the dates were very close to the ones they were replacing. Both PR's were in great shape (foam firmly attached, surrounds 100% perfect) and the seals were great- you could push the PR in and the mid's cones would stay out for as long as you could ask. Really that watermark is the only thing worth mentioning on the conditioning and you probably wouldn't see it for awhile if no one told you it was there.

They've got the silver dome tweeters, not the silk ones.

Only reason why I sold was WAF.

Thanks unc, yes original tweeter's as orignally posted (sl3000) and as far as i know original crossover's. These really are in great shape, especially for their age, 16 almost 17 years old.

I will get some pic's posted in the morning before work, i didnt get home til after dark today and my living room doesnt have that great of lighting so pics would come out no better than the ones i have.

If anyone has anymore question's, or would like an audition just let me know.

So what? More to the point, it's really none of your concern...

    It's a damn good price.

I wasn't referring to this seller's price, I know its a good price for TL versions. I was reminiscing about UNC's good fortunes to find these for low coinage in the first place. I apologize to Poee7R if it seemed out of place.

One question for Poee7R, UNC said these have silver coils, but if they are TL versions, shouldn't they have Trilaminant tweeters? Have you checked them? The Trilams are darker in color than the silver coil and of course, they don't say Silver Coil, just Polk Audio.

Hmm, im going to have to figure out how to make these smaller, the rest are over the max size allowed by the site.

And just to verify, yes these are the proper SL3000's that are supposed to be in them.

Oh, there's interest, just no money due to Christmas.

Kids, look what Santa brought you, 2.3tls! They match your dad's SRS, SDA 2's and SDA 2a's for building out his home theater addition next year.

It would be sort of a shame, but my thought was to buy these and use them for a center between the SRS mains. Screen will be acoustically transparent. Ideally I would love to come across someone who accidentally demolished one their 2 SRS, and buy the remaining 'good' one from them cheap. I should start a new thread along those lines...

    Good luck with your sale!

Somebody needs to snag these....850 is a GREAT price. For a less than half the price you get 99% of performance of the 1.2tl's.

Yes I knew before offering them up it's that time of year. Which is no problem, but I would love to see them stay in the family. They truly are a great set of speakers.

I may just hold onto them instead of ebay, I dunno. Money is always a good thing that you just cant have too much of ya know? :D

If someone would list some 2.3's west of Texas and not in the NW, I'd take care of business.
