Tone, and what is it worth?

I've been wondering about this "tone" thing for a while. I remember having an old keyboard which everyone said "had a lot of tone". I didn't know what it meant at the time because I was just a kid. I traded it in for a "every trick you could think of" keyboard. No one seemed interested after that. I had lost the "tone".
Tone is the realism of sound that the instrument produces. I've recently re-discovered tone after hearing about it from a guitar friend for quite some time.
SDA's produce real tone. Tone is the key for musical re-production.
Also, tubes produce real "tone".

After re-discovering this I am now converted. But now, how to educate others in terms of "tone"?

I think you have mistaken this for a lost album of Tone Loc 's "Funky Cold Medina".

Tone Loc, yea, that's what I meant :)

Tone is a cool word. I like having Tone. I need tone. I may even change my name to Tony.

Ring is one of my favorite words. You can hear the sound within the word. Perhaps I'll change my name to Ringo.

    Madmax,
I think you should change your name to "tube" or "analog" or maybe "digital sucks".

It's interesting that you bring up the "digital sucks" phrase as I am talking about tone. Do you feel tone is lacking in digital equipment?

    BTW,
Welcome to the polk site polktycoon! I just noticed you only had one post. Digital is good. I like digital. As a matter of fact my next purchase will be an SACD machine with outboard DAC as soon as one hits my fancy. I am into quality wherever it lies. The only problem I have with digital is that I believe it is inferior in many aspects. It is superior in just as many so I'll shut up at this point.

    Hey Max,

Speaking of tone, I just listened to Johnny Cash American on CD. Now there is a guy with a voice that has tone. Like no other. If you haven't listened to Cash on your SDA's, you need to.
