If the guy can invest that much $$$ into his audio systems, I'd think he can have any woman he wants....if you what I mean ;)

As to his profession, wasn't it mentioned that he owns a restaurant? Believe me, if you want to be successful in China, you'll need to "grease the wheels" of the local government officials ;)

Ok, don't frame me - oops - fLame me for this, but at what point does this "hobby" become an obsession, your whole life rather than just part of life?

At least no one needs to tell him, "Get a life."

    Sheesh!

P.S. If he ever comes to his senses, I'll be glad to help him unload some of his equipment. :D

Your comment made me think....he better not move or else his moving bill would be $$$ :D

On a related note, wonder what is his insurance premium?

I was just talking to Joe about getting a welding type transformer that converts 240v 50amps (range plug) to a giant DC power supply so I could build an amp that was liquid cooled (radiator outside) to power my monster Polks, subs, center, and rears from one regulated PS. Maybe I should seek more counseling:confused:

Replace all those speakers with SDAs and planars and put a few fake plants around the room and you have DKs system showcase.

OK, this is not a joke. I am working with a gentlemen in England who is going to round up some audiophiles from his neck of the woods to go check this guys collection out. The plan is to have a group of audiophiles go, listen, evaluate and enjoy his vast collection.

No date has been established yet but preliminary plans are to have a date set within / about three years from now. If anybody is willing to help organize with me the plans for whoever would like to go, then LMK. If anybody is interested in making it out there, then post on this thread so I can get a general feel of how many from this forum would be interested in going.

I came across a ongoing 36 page thread at a Hong Kong audiophile website that displays some of the wares owned by Chinese audiophiles. Don't mind the text....just look at the pix :D

I suppose most of these systems are owned by audiophiles in Hong Kong. However, I am sure some of these are owned by those in mainland China, where regular folks can have tons of $$$ if they are determined to succeed.

Based on the logo displayed on the screen, that's the Jade Channel of TVB (Television Broadcast, Inc.). It's just a regular TV channel in Hong Kong showing the typical serial dramas, from which came actors such Chow Yun-fat and Stephen Chow. Heck, for $15.00/month, you can get it on Comcast.

That is some truly amazing collection. But it seems that he could get far more out of some of those systems by just rearranging a few things. For example the big table in front of his listening chairs. Seems you could cut a lot of reflection just by moving that.

It is really cool though that he lets others listen. Let's face it...the general public have virtually zero chance to ever hear gear like that.
