I Am Legend

Sounds like its been done before, but I will see it for the GT500. :D

Robert Neville (Will Smith) is a brilliant scientist, but even he could not contain the terrible virus that was unstoppable, incurable…and manmade. Somehow immune, Neville is now the last human survivor in what is left of New York City…and maybe the world. But he is not alone. He is surrounded by “the Infected”—victims of the plague who have mutated into carnivorous beings who can only exist in the dark and who will devour or infect anyone or anything in their path. For three years, Neville has spent his days scavenging for food and supplies and faithfully sending out radio messages, desperate to find any other survivors who might be out there. All the while, the Infected lurk in the shadows, watching Neville’s every move, waiting for him to make a fatal mistake. Perhaps mankind’s last, best hope, Neville is driven by only one remaining mission: to find a way to reverse the effects of the virus using his own immune blood. But his blood is also what The Infected hunt, and Neville knows he is outnumbered and quickly running out of time.

It has been done before. Omega Man with Charleton Heston. I do believe the orignal book was called I Am legend and thats where Omega Man got it's story, or it's basic theme.

I loved Omega Man and hope this new one rocks!

I'm not a huge Will Smith fan, but this looks incredibly intriguing. Supposedly he holds the screen alone for the 1st hour or so? That in itself is a huge challenge.

I do have 1 burning question though; how in the world did they manage to park an SR-71 on top of a building? At least that's what it looks like in the previews anyway...

I think it's on an aircraft carrier. But even so, not really doable in real life!

Not a big Will Smith fan myself, but this flick looks really good...I will wait for it to come out in BR/HD

Oh and the SR-71...baddest **** plane to ever fly ( Sure newer planes will go faster...etc...but none will hold a candle to how long the SR-71 owned the sky and its records while doing it...Skunkworks kicked **** )

Yar, indeed shadow. My dad is retired AF, so I grew up loving that beast! I think it actually is still the fastest in the world. NASA has that hyper-x program going (supposedly going to be turning out "air breathing" planes with top speeds around mach 10) but I don't know if they are any that have actually been produced yet.

Yea, the more commercials I see for this, the more I want to get to the theater for it!

It's Official. X-43A Raises the Bar to Mach 9.6
Guinness World Records recognized NASA's X-43A scramjet with a new world speed record for a jet-powered aircraft - Mach 9.6, or nearly 7,000 mph. The X-43A set the new mark and broke its own world record on its third and final flight on Nov. 16, 2004.

In March 2004, the X-43A set the previous record of Mach 6.8 (nearly 5,000 mph). The fastest air-breathing, manned vehicle, the U.S. Air Force SR-71, achieved slightly more than Mach 3.2. The X-43A more than doubled, then tripled, the top speed of the jet-powered SR-71.

Technically not a plane I'd tend to think, since it's unmanned.

When I first heard the title of this movie, I thought it was an autobiography of Lou and his sexual adventures.

I hope so...I really liked the Resident Evil's ( Waiting to see Las Vegas in ruins when the latest comes out in BR/HD ) The shot of the lion taking out the whitetail deer ( Never see that in the wild ) is awesome.

It has, twice before. There was a movie made in the 50's or 60's that I had never heard of, and then "The Omega Man" in the early 70's with Charlton Heston.

    Omega Man

This new one looks really good ...as always the trailer gives so much away one can't be awed by the images as much when expecting them.

Generally I don't like remakes of original movies or movies based on TV programs, they almost always disappoint. Think "Planet of the Apes and "The Time Machine". Anyway I hope it's better than the "Wild Wild West". LOL

Ended up being a great movie, I got sucked into the story despite the CG being a little weak sometimes.
