Last I heard, Bear has the speakers, with the recommended pass off to auto_pilot. You guys take care of that yet?

have a question and i am new to polk. I bought RTI8s and CSi3, and i am wondering if i can use 4 rti4s as the rears or rti4 and fxi3. the reason i am asking is because the fxi3 are hard to find now and in a couple of months i will not be able to find them. So i will have to use the rti4 (x4) instead. Will this work? or do i have to have the fxi3? ANy help would be very much appreiated. I also want to be a tester and i am looking for some rears for my system. If i like them i will buy them.

Most of us have been hit with the flu epidemic. Bear's still got the speakers and has tried to hook up with Steve, but P65 is down for the count with a high fever. Robert is going to contact auto-pilot tonight to send them over there this week. When auto-pilot is done, he can hand these off to shahmichael. From there back to Steve, via Beardog03, if necessary (he works in the city), from there to Alec in Daly City.

    Tentative schedule:
    next auto_pilot
    shahmichael
    Polk65

    Combo rig:

Onkyo NR1007 pre-pro, Carver TFM 45(fronts), Carver TFM 35 (surrounds)
    SDA 1C, CS400i, SDA 2B

Not sure how to link another speaker thread (Advice/recommendations please - RTiA7 plus 5.1 configuration), or if it is proper to mix threads, but wanted to ask in this one what might be optimal to complete my setup. I just purchased fronts - RTiA7, center - CSiA4. I am debating on the rears - either the RTiA1 or RTiA3. For $100 more, what do the A3s have over the A1s? Are the A1s a better match for the A7s - and the A3s for the A9s?
Also, any advice on best results by 1) hanging on back wall of HT room at 7' - 8' high, or 2) place on 30" or 36" speaker stands? Thanks for any advice/assistance

I'm sure the A1s will work fine for surrounds. The A3s will give you a bit more midrange and bass, which will be noticeable, but the larger speakers are harder to mount and there's much less information in the surrounds. There's no right or wrong answer, they are all voice matched.

Guys, please remember to post a review, even if brief on the product page during or after your demo is complete. Taking the small amount of time to do that will give Polk the feedback they are looking for, and keep speaker demo programs like this 'alive'.

    Cheers,
    Russ

    will do....

Sorry for the long delay, but it was difficult getting the next player lined up...

Polk65 is next, and he lives right there in the City, so it should get the program back on track......

The sickness that hit our area was no joke......I`m just glad to be over it....

    Anyway,thanks for stepping up, Alex

The torch has been passed.......Enjoy ...!!

A big "THANK YOU" to POLK and Russ and Mark, and all involved ...for making this all possible....

Ron Temple deserves a big THANK YOU also for being so involved, and making sure the program goes off without a hitch...he`s a stand up guy in my book.....

Damn I wish I've been here longer and it was in the Fairfield area. I've been pondering on picking these up as surrounds for a couple of weeks now.
I should've listened way back in 2008, they told me I'd go broke... they were right

PM Doro or Russ and ask to get in the rotation. Momentum has really stalled, several of the guys that wanted in haven't gotten in touch. The speakers are in SF, but Beardog03 works there and lives fairly close to you. If you get in, then he can take them and meet you somewhere.

However, this demo rotation has taken far longer than anticipated and Polk might want to get their speakers back.

I replied to this last night, but it must have been lost...I think Luc still wants a demo. He's close to me and Steve will be passing me the speakers shortly.

I'm open to coordinating with others. Some who initially wanted in have not been in contact, so I would guess it's ready to wind down after djlogix (if he's in). Last time I checked it looked like some reviews are owed...Bear, Alex, Steve :p.

Sheesh what a bunch of.... Polk is nice enough to set this up so they can get some feedback for the public & you guys are falling down on the job.

Thanks for that helpful insight there Cath ...!

I have been working very, very long hours, and was very sick during my turn at Demo-ing the speaks....But your absolutly correct.....
I do owe you good folks a reveiw of the speaks that I was lucky enough to get my ears on...and I will do just that

I got a $400.90 ticket for going through a yellow light in S.F. (picture was taken in the middle of intersection), when I was on my way to drop them off for Alex...anothe 40 bucks for the court fees , and another 200 for traffic school..!!

I could have bought the pair of speaks for less !!

Yet I am willing to pick them up and drop them off to whom ever you would like me to contact....

I have actually had a few discussions about those speaks with various interested party`s , and helped sell a couple of pairs...all in the name of good music/surround sound for Polk Audio !!

I am very Grateful to Polk for affording myself and others the oppotunity to Demo their wonderful product, and will write up a small reveiw of my thoughts...when I get a minute to sit down and do so....

    thank you all for understanding

    Ron my brother....
Call me anytime to direct me to pick up or drop off, when and if you need me to...
I will do what I can to help wrap up the demo for yourself, Mark , and Russ...

I've been seeing questions about the RTIa's on other boards, and I was going to direct them to the reviews from you guys on Polks product pages, but didn't find any! Hence my little prod.

Hope you feel better soon & are able to cut back on the number of hours you have to put in on the job.

    Take care Robert.:)
