I just received a new to me Musical Fidelity A308 integraded to be the heart of my 2 channel and utilize its HT pass through to the power my mains. No more turning everything off to switch interconnects on the back of my HT amp to listen to 2 channel and switch back for HT. And a remote control for 2 channel. Fat lazy city for me.

I am very pleased with the way it sounds. It seems to work really well with my Jolida CDP and 2B's.

We had about 30 people over for a party last night and several people stayed till after 3 listening to tunes.

Thanks guy's. This piece has transformed my system. I am trying to keep it simple.

I am going to try to integrate the MF into my entertainment center a little better today. It is a big piece so I am going to have to cut some of the back of the cabinet so it will slide back deep enough on the shelf.

I think that's my next step up the MF foodchain. I really like the fact that it has 2 speaker outputs. Makes it much easier to try out new speakers when you don't have to unhook anything else. And/or use it to power speaker in another room.

Great rig! About what price did you pay and where did you get it from, if you don't mind me asking. . .

Nice job Scott. Won't that MF get overly hot in that enclosure?

I have about 3'' all the way around. The heat sinks are on the side full depth and the are only @ 10 degrees warmer than the room so far.

My basement is now the warmest room in the house.

I have mine sitting on top of the rack and it runs lightly warm. I am however having a problem because I have the MF too close to my turntable and am getting what sounds like a 60 hz drone faintly out of the third tweeter from the top more on the left speaker than the right but it is definitly there.

Funny thing; I can hear it . . . my wife, my sons, my friends can't!

I use my Parasound HCA-1500 to help warm the livingroom--I think it works better than the gas fireplace.

Some of my CD's that I just could not listen to before are now very listenable. I attribute it to the Musical Fidelity and/or the lack of using an HT amp as my 2 channel amp.

    Still smiling.

    Scotty,

Finally got my shiny new MF A308 hooked up. Way more power than i need for my smallish Thiel CS1.2s in my apartment, but I wanted something that could power ANY speaker I might get in the foreseeable future.

As good as my MF A3.2 integrated was, this one is better. Only listened to a few songs so far, but it helps the 2-way 1.2s to put out tight controlled bass and seems to dig a bit lower than the 3.2. I also notice a bit more detail in music and picked up on some nuances in songs I had never heard before. I basically traded both my A3.2 integrated and CD combo for this piece, but I wasn't big on the A3.2CD because it doesn't have SACD, so I was basically using two sources. Went back to PE DV-45 through my theta and it's definitely adequate. Might get a single source instead of transport + DAC, but no big rush to do that.

Basically, apply any favorable audio cliche you like and it will be true. I'm super excited. My A3.2 had a tiny nick on the edge which always bothered me. My new 308 is in absolutely pristine condition. I have to mash the volume button down a bit to get it to respond (it's the remote, not the A308) but that's the only downside I've found so far. Finish is exquisite. So thick, so heavy, so solid. Loving it so far, and only had it plugged in for 45 minutes.
