Going under the knife next friday

Went for a physical before thanksgiving and was referred to a 'urologist'. Went to see him today and apparently I need a 'varicocelectomy'. Supposed to be a 3 hour procedure and I get to go home/back to work in 2-3 days.
Not sure if anyone here has gotten this procedure done but without it, I'm risking becoming infertile in the future. Not a big deal but feedback from those who have gotten this done would be appreciated.
Something like 15-20 % of males experience this.

Here's a pretty graphic website which explains it really well.

I wish I hadn't gone there. I did the same thing, Googled 'varicocelectomy' and that was the website. If infertility is a side effect to the condition, I definitely don't have it. I guess I may have to wait and see if the issue arises for baby number 2 when we start working on that officially.
Hope everything goes well! My brother in law had a botched vasectomy that gave him all kinds of pain and issues. Of course he was trying to be infertile, so... Good luck and ban yourself from the Tasteful Babe Thread or your recovery might last a lot longer than you expected.I know just enough to be dangerous, but don't tell my wife, she thinks I'm a genius.

Well im not really sure what this procedure requires but it sounds painful to me. You have my sympathy and well wishes to a speedy recovery.
REGARDS SNOWWell, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all -
Best of luck to you (that includes big Jim and twins too!)

No, he has a narrow urethra.
Good luck. -
I have it on one side, and I haven't had any problems, although when I was younger I was told it could lead to low sperm count or infertility. If I did have problems having kids and it ended up being that, I'd have the operation done in a second.
I'm sure it'll be fine.
So......If any of you have something REALLY cool for sale, and I say I'd give my left nut for that, now you know why.My equipment sig felt inadequate and deleted itself. -
Good luck with the procedure! I wish you the best and a speedy recovery!Carl

I had that procedure - TWICE. The first time, the Urologist missed an enlarged vein. So, the 2nd time, I had the best Urologist in the state do a "tune-up". Anyway, it worked. Wifey is pregnant.
The recovery really isn't all that painful. You are sore... but, sore isn't a big deal. No need for pain meds. -
I have a few friends who've had it done. Just have a few ice packs handy and take it easy for a couple of days, you'll be fine."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche

good luck man. make sure you let us know if you make it back here and are OK.
