Does anyone know how much SDA-CRS including stands and shipping package would weigh? Or even the speakers alone?
Thanks

For 750 bones, you could find out from Ron Skarvan.

I don't fault him for saying they are worth that. Mine are as well, it's just that my collection can be considered a horde. Right now I have 2 pairs of 1.2's, a pair of 2.3TL's, a pair of 1C's and 2 pairs of CRS+'s sitting in my livingroom. What the hell was I thinkin? With all that I have no place left to sit.

It all comes down to what it costs to reproduce that same sound. I don't doubt it would cost about $1500 in new speakers to sound comparable so $750 is not a bad deal. But then there is ebay...

I know, I'm just picking on Ron. **** if you can get it, I say more power to ya!

The thing is that the vast majority of speakers are worse than cars for depreciation.

That is a good comparison. In fact you are backing my case. 1970's Pinto, rare, worthless
1970's Chevelle, not as rare, price keeps going up

I think the SDA's will at some point have a very small market with a very high price tag, although I wouldn't base my retirement on it.

Each CRS weighs 31 pounds and the stands are 7 pounds each.

I would not advise shipping everything in the same box, although both CRS's will fit neatly inside the stands. If they take a hit during shipping, the metal stands could damage the cabinets.

The crossover board is fastened to a large, heavy inductor coil that is prone to coming loose during shipment if precautions are not taken.

Two of my CRS+ pairs arrived with the crossover circuit boards knocked loose in shipping. The crossover damaged one of the drivers while it was rattling around inside the cabinet. You might want to pack them lying on their backs and mark the outside of the shipping box to maintain the top of the box always facing up.

    Yea,
The cost is up there too. Whew! I've seen some polks that were not packaged optimally. They do not stand the tortures of shipment!
    Thanks,

$750 would have been a steal for CRS+'s with stands in 1991.
Today, $750 is still a steal for CRS+'s - not in the way that you think though. Seriously, to me, they are worth about $750. Especially considering the fact that the CS400i cost me $400 for just ONE SPEAKER.

Just because they are old, doesn't mean that they aren't good (valuable).

Anything around $400 for a set of CRS+'s is just an excellent value/deal. Simple as that.

    Here is some FREE information:
    Dimensions: 10 1/8" x 20" x 12 3/4"
    Weight (each): 35 Lbs
    Impedance: 6 ohms
    Hi Pass: 2.5Khz
    Low Pass 1: 125 hz
    Low pass 2: 150 hz

I sure am glad they used rubber surrounds on those drivers. If they had used foam we would all own nice boxes with useless drivers!
