I didn't know exactly where to post this. But I just wanted to share some new experiences with someone. I just recently got my first hd lcd, a 32" westinghouse. I have a oppo dvd player upconverting all my standard dvd's. I have been haveing some trouble with the picture but after a couple of days of fine tuning on my dvd player and tv. It finally came around. The picture is nothing short of amazing. I popped in a santana concert dvd tonight and was stunned. Even with my modest 2 channel setup the sound and picture together really made an aw inspiring experience. The kind where the hairs on my arm kept standing up during certain parts of the concert.

Ever since I came to this forum I have been on a great audio and video journey and it just keeps getting better and better. I have already purchased a toshiba a2 and it is on its way, so I will get to see a true hd dvd pretty soon. But untill then my oppo is doing an amazing job unconverting and I can't stop watching dvds. Just wanted to share and thanks for listening.

Glad things are coming together for you. Looking good. I am also looking at a Toshiba player and may opt for the XA1, althought not quite sure yet.

The title and first two sentences had me going. I thought maybe you just discovered putting batteries on your tongue or stuff like that.

I am not sure that your setup qualifies as "modest":
    - Emotiva LMC-1
    - B&K ST-140
    - Oppo DV-970
    - Toshiba HD-A2
    - RT800 mains
    ... etc. etc.

Now my setup IS modest (but I'm working on it ...). IMHO: lucky you! ;)
    Alea jacta est!

Well... It's modest compared to a lot of systems I see here.:)
