Kudos Polk Service Center

One of my RT3000 amps stopped working awhile back. Since I live in the San Diego area, I thought I'd make the trip myself to the Polk Service Center instead of trusting such a valuable piece of equipment to a shipping service. Not knowing how far out in the boonies this place was, I arrived on a Friday afternoon at 3:20pm. The place closes at 3:30pm. I was promptly greeted and handed the amp over to the repair tech and explained the problem. He thought he knew what the problem was but was out of there at 4pm. He said he would at least test it real quick and let me know. I was glad to think I would leave knowing how much it would cost to get it fixed. He came back 10 minutes later and asked if $30 in parts and $33 in labor would be fair to fix it. Sure! Better than buying a new amp. I asked if that included shipping for returning it to me when fixed ( I didn't want to drive another 1.5 hours again to the place). He said, 'Oh, I already fixed it. You can take it with you today.'
Kudos Polk Service Center. I can have 300 watts of base on both sides of the screen during movie time this Thanksgiving thanks to your prompt service and going the extra mile even though it was closing time on a Friday afteroon. You've got a customer for life.
ps. For anyone who wants to know, it was the two large capacitors on the amp that went bad.
pps. First thing I did when getting home was to get that amp back where it belongs....Finally, back in stereo RT3000p bass heaven!

My only dealing with them has been very positive."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche

I'll add my agreement - I-Sonic was humming, one phone call, replaced.
