Will this setup be a good choice?

BTW, tell your wife she does an EXCELLENT job with her interior design!
I don't know how cheap you are trying to be, but if I were trying to do it on a budget, here is what I would do.
LSiC
LSi9 on stands up front
LSi7 rears (or LSiFXs)
Emotiva LPA-1 6x225 @4ohms..... Just $549 shipped from Emotiva.com
SVS PB12
Receiver of your choice....
I'll have to consider this pretty closely. Not sure I want to give up the 15s though. If I understood someone correctly earlier, If I drive the 15s with amps, I don't really need a separate subwoofer.
Am I missing something on the Emotiva LPA-1 AMP? I have not seen anything that even comes close to that price. Is there something about this amp that makes it cheaper? Something different from the ones that cost 3 or 4 times as much? Does is run cool enough to keep in the cabinet below my TV?
Not familiar with SVS but I have seen them recommended many times. Again, more research.
Oh, Sound Advice called me back today. They were going to put me together a deal together on the set. They called and said they would knock 10% off the 9s and the center but the 15s were full price. I said, "it took you 5 days to come up with that offer? You could have told me that the day I was in the store and I would said I will go elsewhere". If anyone wants to share where they might have gotten a descent deal on theirs, let me know. Right now it's looking like crutchfield. -
It's that low because it's an internet company but also it is only 125wpc @ 8ohms. The more power you want, the more it costs.
It cannot be stressed enough that the more power you feed the LSI's the happier they are & the better you will like the sound.
The more power you get at 8ohms the more power the LSI's will have at 4ohms.
You really shouldn't start with less then 200wpc @ 8ohms.
Both Wingnut & G2 went up to 300wpc @ 8ohm with the Cinenova Grande and are/were even happier with the results from when they had 200wpc @ 8ohms feeding them.
I know it's a lot of money but the results are well worth it. You can get more bang for your buck if you get a used amp from Audiogon.
I just got the prepro in my signature for 1350.00 + shipping from Audiogon. Looks like new, took my system to the next level & I didn't have to shell out the over 3,000.00 that it cost when it was new.Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2 -

You either misunderstood or were told incorrect information. If you plan to do more than about 20% home theater with your sytem (comared to 2 channel listening) you will not just want, but really need a subwoofer.
With that size room it will not be overly cheap and if you really wanted to, you could hold off until more money comes in, but you will have to have a subwoofer. (and no - the free PSW10 does not count)

Well, I have a lot of information to wade through and some serious decisions to make. One thing I did notice today when looking at an amp was it had a notice section that stated a 20 amp outlet was required which made me think. Will I overload my circuit with an amp? I currently have my Yamaha 992 Receiver, 60" Sony SXRD, Bose System, Comcast PVR and HD-DVD player all connected through my Trip-Lite Backup system with no problem. If I have to add another circuit, I'm not sure how that will work. This is all getting much more complicated than I anticipated. I'm glad I asked these questions now before I had a room full of speakers.

I have the 9's up front with the 7's in the rear and have no regrets not buying the 15's.Michael

You should be fine with the 20 amp circut you have. It's a power amp - not an arc welder. (well some could be used either way...)
just keep asking questions and you will get where you want to be soon.

I may have stated that poorly. All of my circuits are 15amp. That is what prompted the question. I can't even run that particular amp by itself if those specs are to be taken literally.
As of right now, I am very seriously considering the Emotiva LPA-1. That price is insane for 225watts at 4 ohms. I know it's not a true 7 channel, but taking the advice I was given earlier, I don't think I will ever add the side surrounds.
Speaker choice as of right now is the LSi15s front, LSi7 Rear and the LSiC center.
I'm still thinking of going with the Onkyo 705. I could add the LMC-1 Emotiva processor and get the whole package for $899 but it doesn't appear to have all the HD processing capability.

Keep the Onkyo just use a power amp. You could amp up the front channels and let the Onkyo drive the rears though Im not sure how much power it would put out. I just ordered a D-sonic Mag1000S power amp. I read they are great amps over at AVS though I cant say just yet, Worth a look, you bet, also check out Audiogon for Sunfire, Adcom, Outlaw(sale on audiogon right now for M200s @160 bucks each), Parasound, and I will also say Dsonic just based on the reads from the web I researched. www.d-sonic.netShoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!

How did you D-Sonic work out, I'm needing a 3 channel amp to power 2 RTI'12's and a CSI 5. Let me know how you like the brand and if you notice a great improvement.
