Amping RTi 10's

Well the next addition i would like to make is a seperate amp for my fronts. My question is what would be the best way to amp them?

Since the RTi's and most polk speakers have the option of bi-amplification, would it be better to amplify just the low end on the RTi10's and leave the mids and highs off the AVR?

Also, the cutaway pics i've seen on these towers look like all drivers kind of share the enclosure space. Would the mids and highs be affected by the added power to the 7" drivers?

No amp in mind yet. Maybe a four channel would suit better.

You'll find lot's of threads using the search feature on what amps to get but to get you started in your search, check out some used amps on AudiogoN from Rotel, Outlaw, Krell, Earthquake, Parasound, Sunfiire, etc....

As for Bi-amping, get an amp, and try it. I found no benefit using my Denon to power the highs on RTi10’s and an amp for everything else but it doesn’t mean you won’t hear a benefit.

And yes, it is in the wrong thread.

IMO I would not bi-amp since unless you have an external crossover it's not truly biamping. My suggestion is to just get a beefy amp with lots of current and send one channel to each speaker. I love how my RTi-10s sound with a B&K amp and recommend them highly. If you are only worried about two channels you can pick one up at a reasonable price on Audiogon.
