Well Joe all that matters is that your happy, I myself if I had my way and if the interconnects and speaker cables didnt have to be so long would love to stick my amps preamp cd player etc in a closet somewhere out of sight. But for some people half the appeal of audio gear is the looks of it. which is fine. there are some very attractive pieces out there, art basically. some people prefer the shiny silver look of the 70s with hundreds of knobs and switches. some like lots of lights, others pretty wood cabinents on all there gear. There is no right way or wrong way. If it sounds better than what you were using then its an improvement. If it happens to look nice while doing that it's a bonus.

Congrats on your new gear and I hope it brings you many years of enjoyment.

Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

This upgrade wouldn't have spawned from a certain visit to a fan of open wheel racing would it?

Sweet tittie Joe!!! If only you could send one einsie, teensie little bit of the actual sound over the computer, we'd all know what it sounds like. That **** ain't happenin', so I guess a road trip is in order.

Congrat's and rock on bro'! :D [I'm a big fan of knobs too, especially the one's that don't require support.]

I suspect it will not be long before the vinyl rig is back doing its thing.

Nice to see you happy and broke Joe, everything as it should be. The tri-vista gear is awesome stuff.

Of course through all the hub-bub Mr. Nut is laying low and grinning with his new piece.

I think its really kool that you have your wife to listen with you. It seems so many times I read about how the other half is uninterested in audio other than to make decisions on how many or how big the speakers can be etc.

Life is so much better if shared. Congrats once again on your new gear.

As much as music is a deep personal experience for me, when I am listening to some really great music and it is sounding so incredible, I'm always wishing there is someone there to share it with. That is why a lot of times after a piece is complete I'll run to the computer to write about what I just heard on this forum.

I got my step-up transformer back from the repair shop. I have been listening to CDs & SACDs all week. I'm afraid that when I connect the analog rig back up, I'll be putting the CDs & SACDs back on the shelf.

My mother-in-law is here for the weekend and I wanted to spend time with her and have not been able to listen and I'm going ****!!!

While I like like the looks of the T-V.....MF does tend to go to the 'gaudy' look. Some of the older models with the gold trim were done up in ghetto pimp style.

I really love my MF A5 pre, but with all the pretty blue lights, I wish they would have put one one the volume knob. Just a small one, so I can tell where I'm at when the room is dark. :)

I've been listening or should I say we've been listening a couple or three hours a night and my goodness is this one sweet sounding rig, analog and digital.

As good as the digital sounds with the Timbre DAC I know I can get better, so I've resolved myself to the fact that my next acquisition is going to be a high end CD/SACD player maybe something along the line of a Musical Fidelity kW or an Esoteric.
