I was being VERY saracastic in taping off loudspeaker positions...

I've been there with the BP10B, fun speakers - but can be maddening...

However, I definitely am the person that pulls out the tape measurer on the placement to make sure everything is right....

I'll remember to pull out the smilies next time

What will amps do for your life? Nothing

But life is short, enjoy it...

    That's the point, Nothing.

Sure - It's fun, and I will enjoy it, just like I did with the Def Techs, but in the end it's just a material object.

In comparison to actually inventing something or stuff like that...

    Ya see what I mean?

    Not a pointless conversation.

Well, I'm the type that thinks, "does it sound good?"

Sure, you can take out your tape measure and do this and that, but in the end, it all comes down to if I enjoy the sound or not.

We all know you have become the anti-tweak god...

I'm all about enjoying sound ... but if someone asks for help... telling them to just move things till they like it - while a no brainer dosnt really help... because obviously if them just moving it around till they like it was working -- they wouldnt be asking for help...

So kind of pointing them in a direction that has worked for you - there is no harm in that...

As for buying amps vs. inventing things -- whatever, its giving me a headache... lol - so you are debating buying a material object or inventing a material object... -- god speed....

If I were in your situation, I'd just get the Stratos on Audiogon for 600 bucks and a CLR1000 -- youd be out for like 750 and have a ROCKING setup for movies and music...

I find it very interesting that you associate inventing something with inventing a material object. Because that's not what I had in mind :)

And yes, I'll most likely take your advice and get an amp and the center.

    I know

    But you are 19...

The average life of males in America is like 75 some odd years...

That gives you roughly.. 56 some years to invent some things...

You buying an amp and a center today is not going to hinder you of all future progress tommorow

Screw what the amps will do for your life. That's not why you get an amp.

It's what it can do for your ears. If you can afford it, get it.
