During CD playback, with volume set at 30 (Max), the speaker output is comparable to the radio with the volume set at 8 (Approx). I have tried several CD's and the result is the same. All of these CD's work fine in other units. Can't hear it more than 10 feet away. Radio will blast you out of the house.

Yup! Mine started doing the same thing.
I have to get in touch with Ken. Can bearly hear the CD player. Radio, XM works fine.
BTW - this is the third unit Polk has sent me. I'm an original purchaser. This unit came (I believe in June or July)

I guess I'm the one who has gotten the ones that decide to take a dive after a few months.

    BTW:
I failed to mention in my previous post - that every problem I have had with the I-Sonic has been with the CD player function. The first two (or three maybe now that I think of it?) could not read any CDs. With this unit - I thought I finally got that problem licked. Up until now - with the volume error - I have happily enjoyed my unit.

It is a great sounding unit - something is fishy with the CD player system - which IS THE MAIN REASON I bought this unit for my dining room area. - John
