Surround Bar and Onkyo receiver problem

I think this is relatively simple but I'm overly confused. I think the problem is in the settings for the surround bar on the Onkyo receiver. I am not getting the sound I should be getting and think it has to do with the speaker distance settings on the receiver.
The receiver will allow me to set the distance but gives no instruction on what they should be. The distance between my position and the surround bar is about 20 feet. But the distance is the same for all the speakers in the surround bar. Im thinking if the distance is the same on all of the surround bar speakers then that is where my sound is deteriorating.
The second issue is the crossover voltage setting on the onkyo receiver. I looked in both sets of instructions and have absolutely no idea what they are talking about.
Thanks in advance for the help

Hello,
The SB can sound pretty good with a little setup consideration. Since you are 20' from all the speakers, in the SB, make that the adjustment for all the distance settings. Do you have a sub? If you do, how did you connect it to the receiver? Front speaker connections? Or, did you use the sub-out on the receiver?

I connect it to the sub out. Are you saying that the distance on all of the speakers should be sat at 20ft?

Hello,
Since you are using the sub-out connection method, you will need to go into the receiver's setup instructions and raise the crossover frequency to 120Hz. This is necessary to match the low frequency capability of the SurroundBar. Yes, set the distance for each speaker the same 20' setting.
