I have been looking for a pair of rear surrounds to match my rt800 mains. I finally found a pair on ebay and won them for 202.00 shipped. From the pictures and the description they seemed pretty mint. But unfortunatly they pretty much got destroyed in shipping. These are just a few pics. I had around twenty spots total I had to take pictures of.

The seller said he had them insured for $100.00 a peice. he has already filed a claim with fed ex. He said it should take 7-10 business days to get my money.:)

Looks like Fedex smashed another pair of speakers.

The picture of the cracked and smashed pedestal is particularly apalling ... I hope they go to speaker heaven and dont suffer too long in that condition.

They are RT600's and I thought they would work great as my rear surrounds. They would pair well with my RT800 mains.

Am I wrong about making a rt600 or rt800 my rear surrounds? If I am I'll take suggestions because it looks like I will start my search once again.

What kind of packaging was used? That looks brutal.

I;ve found that more often than not, when a speaker is destroyed by the shipping company, it is the fault of insufficient packing...that's just been my personla experience. How well were they packet?

Looks like they had no packing or packaging at all! Stuck a stamp on the side and mailed them with a sticker that said "Drop Me".

Sorry about your situation. I hope FedEx will make things right for you. That's a shame!

It looked they were packed by fed ex to me. They were wrapped in 3 or 4 thin layes of the small bubble wrap and then wrapped in a brown type paper. It was very very neat but there was no protection. The neatness makes me think they were professionaly wrapped and the seller mentioned nothing of him packing them.

THey weren't in any kind of box? Are you serious? I can't believe that fed ex would pack like that, it's asking for an insurance claim.

Thats what I thought. The seller said we will most likely win are claim. It will just take some patients.

Will I get to keep the speakers if I win my claim?
