The new format got me in and I'm getting a Toshiba HD-A3. So, my OPPO OPDV971H needs to go. Good opportunity to give a little back to the forum.

Open to all members with more than 100 posts.

Only requirement: pay forward. Winner must start a karma thread as soon as he/she is announced. No limits on the item; could go from your car to a used CD.

Interested? Post the item you would give on karma.

Karma ends when I hook up the Toshiba and confirm it works to my satisfaction.

EDIT: Nothing wrong with this player; probably the best SD upconverter you can get. Includes remote, manual, original box, blah, blah, blah.

    RICARDO, props, first of all. but a head's up, if you ever plan on playing imported/region coded standard def dvd's, then know that you still need your oppo to play them.

    What I can have up for karma...
    AQ type 2 speaker cable
    lg upconverting dvd player
    maybe even my marantz dv4200 (i use it for cd only)

    Not all of them but I would choose one

    btw, i have the same oppo and i love it. it's gotten me through the transition of dvd to hd formats. it is dvi out, btw. no hdmi. great player. great karma!

    ah what the heck, I've got a dvd player that will do sacd, but not dvd-a(I have 1 dvd-a disc).I'm in. If I win I'll karma the kenwood tuner I got from a karma as I no longer have my separates, winner pays shipping because I am broke.

    Yes; with an adapter (I might even have one) it can be connected to HDMI, same picture quality.

    I've got stuff that I could giveaway, so please count me in for the Oppo Karma.
    I'll decide later, but it could be a vinyl starter package that would have 15+ albums; or another DVD player that I'm not using; or maybe my original 1st generation Playstation that I've been using as a CD player (it would come with all the games I have too)

    Thanks for a great karma...but NOT IN. I've got 5 DVD players in the house now (not counting portables). I don't need any more.

    yeah, well...yeah. i'm going the opposite route to connect ps3 (hdmi) to my dvi tv.

    Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D
