New amp

With my decision to purchase an LSiC from AndyGwis, I'll need to pick up a new amp. I'm currently using an Adcom GFA 545 II to power my LSi15's, but I'd like to get a new five channel amp, however, I need something that will allow me to choose between two sources for my mains. I use a tube pre for music and my old Denon AVR for movies. It's a pain in the **** to switch back and forth now, as I have to unplug the pre-outs from the AVR every time I listen to music -- using a Y splitter on the amp input. Should I look for an amp with a source selector or go with a seperate piece of equipment for that task? I'm also going to start looking for a new HT pre with DTS/DD. Any/all advice is much appreciated. I'm 90% two-channel, 10% HT.

See if you can get an HT bypass added to your pre. Or you could do it yourself- drill out holes for a new set of RCA's and a switch. Unsolder wires currently hooked to pre-out on your preamp & solder them to one input the switch and new set of RCA's to the other input on the switch. output goes to the your pre outs. then put denon pre out to that new set of RCA's.

Your y-cable is REALLY asking for trouble.

I don't have the time or know-how to mess with soldering anything. My tube pre is more of an entry-level pre, so I doubt I can get anything added to it. I'm looking at the Rotel RMB-1095 as a new amp, but does anyone have any other suggestions for how to split the amp between two sources?

Adcom 555 or 555II are very nice amps and clean. To me they are the best bang for the buck.

I would think you could make some type of switch box with an a & b input then run the output from the switch box to the amp. You would need some sort of 3-way switch (or switches) some RCA jacks, etc. I would have to give it some thought. I can't see it being much different then the multi input boxes used for TV's that radio shack sells.
