REALLY!!!...I'm getting nervous. I've had my computer bog down when I needed it most before. Maybe you should go ahead and bid just in case. The thing with me is that even though these are eight hours from me. Their as colse as any have ever been. except the ones in Missouri. But that auction ended early. Someone else on the forum bought those.

They all get those *** on them when it gets beyond a certain $ amount. I think it's when it's above $200. That way, no one knows who's bidding against who.

yeah guys...I was just kidding...I didn't bid (not even looking). Sorry the TL's got away. Man, those speakers hold their value over time, don't they? Both a blessing and a curse.

What can I say, congrats on the new speakers. They look very nice. I think thats the first pair of boxes that I have ever seen for those. Dont throw them away, you could probally sell them on ebay for $500.00 lol. You are going to love these speakers I have a pair also and am in awe on a daily basis at how good they sound. Oh and welcome to the forum.

Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

Yep I was very impressed by the boxes too. I remember the boxes that my original SRSs came in, in 1984.

Snow, thanks a lot. I was pretty impressed with the boxes also. Sometimes pictures can hide blemishes and dings, but the boxes looked so clean (after 17 years) that I figured the guy must take super good care of them, that's really what sold me. And I'm dying to hook my Parasound HALOs up to them, and exercise their lungs. Any advice on placement or positioning?

You might want to try them 3 feet from side walls,,and 6-12 inches from the rear wall,,and tweak from threr. Congrats and enjoy.are you bi-amping them?
JC approves....he told me so. (F-1 nut)

Hearingimpaired, I was really impressed with your 2-channel setup (an SME Series V Tonearm??!! -- niiice). I'd like to get your thoughts on an upgrade to the 1.2TL crossover -- did you rebuild your own, or did you have someone do it? If so, what difference did you hear, and how much did you pay? I hear that an upgraded crossover makes a world of difference -- Darque Knight did a short expose on that topic here. What do you think?

Thanks, too, George. I bought a second HALO just for that purpose. But I was also wondering what bi-wire(ing) is. Do you know?

I did the crossover upgrade with assistance from another member but I assure you that it really isn't difficult. The big differences I've found was a more accurate tone, the bass definition and presence are leaps and bounds better, the imaging and details are more holographic.

Don't leave home without them!!! The RD0198s & crossover upgrades.

Hearingimpaired, any chance I could convince you to help me (or do) the crossover upgrade? I suspect that there is soldering involved (which I have absolutely NO ability to do), which would take me out of the picture altogether. If yes, we could work out the logistics (and you're close!).

    Congrats Casualinfoguy!!!!, Welcome to CP!!!!

I also re-did my crossover with help from Hearingimpared (Thanks Joe :) )

You can see the steps of my crossovers in my web ablum below.

So, did the seller have the Bass Braces?

    Sal

Lasareath, I did see your web albumn (even before I bought the 1.2s), and I was totally impressed. I don't have any "body" work on the speakers, they are in perfect condition all around, but I hear I can get better imaging and overall better sound by upgrading the crossover. I'm curious as to how high-quality components I can go, and if someone could help me.
