SDA SRS 3.1's for HT

Of the speakers I own(ed), I would pick the SDA 2.3TL's first, LSI15's second, and the 3.1's third...Even though the LSI's are a different type of speaker than the SDA's, I don't think the 3.1's are 'SDA' enough. They sound too close to a 'regular' stereo speaker IMO (not enough SDA effect), and because of which, the LSI wins with the help of their amazing tweeter. The 2.3 TL's on the other hand are simply amazing, and will never part with them unless I run into severe financial difficulty and are forced to do so.

Completely understandable. Thanks.

Got the bad boys today. In super shape with box and packing. One tweeter was out and to my luck just a loose wire
I had the SDA 1C's years ago and the only thing I can say is I think they had better sda effect then these and maybe a little better low end. Very nice looking speakers overall. Maybe I should do the upgrade on the crossovers. Any thoughts here? -

Glad they are in good shape...I can't comment on the advantages of upgrading the x-overs...but I think it would be a worthwhile investment...that plus a pair of RDO tweeters. -
Congrats

I took a look at the crossovers today and see it uses the following caps
1ea 12uf @ 50v
1ea 55uf @ 100v
1ea 24uf (2- 12uf in parallel)
And one unknown reads as follows
TI
E-0012-1
12J100v
anyone here know what this is? -

Just also bought these off of ebay. Just waiting to see the shipping $$$$ for IL to PA. I know it's gonna hurt

Based on the picture in the eBay add, which shows a speaker with SL2000 tweeters and the "doughnut" style woofers at the top and bottom of the left speaker array, these are the early version of the SDA SRS 2.3 and not the SDA SRS 2.3TL. There is a substantial difference between the two speakers. If you bought these thinking they were 2.3TL's, you might want to inform the seller of his error and cancel the deal.Proud and loyal citizen of the Digital Domain and Solid State Country!

I probably like the older version better anyway. As I said I also have the 3.1tl and it dose not even resemble a true sda speaker and image at all. Hoping these are closer to the SDA 1C's. that I loved and should of never sold. Not sure how I will get them here. Thinking a moving company ? or UPS freight. If anyone has any thoughts let me know. I need to get them from IL to Western PA. -

they do door to door and packing at reasonable prices. I've used them quite a few times. -
