Here are my new B&W 683's to replace my Polk RTi12's. Totally different sound than the Polks and I like it. My whole system is still for sale in the For Sale section.

I'm thinking the same thing...........mismatching works on super high end stuff in an eclectic kinda way that doesn't always move down the line with grace.

I can't believe they are offering the FST driver tech in the flagship of the 600 series line. Mundorf caps in a minimalist crossover. Outstanding.

Something I always loved about B&W was the trickle down tech from the higher end lines. I got to hear a pair about 2 months ago, and it was nothing short of stunning, especially at the price.

    Cheers,

Nice. I am curious where the cabinets were made. B&W uses Denmark for the 700 and 800 series.

Those look pretty schweet. Tell us more about how they sound and how they are different from the Rti12's.

Well I work for www.audiodimensions.net and we sell B&W, Rotel, Classe, etc. So I have listened to these in our theater rooms for about a month now but they have been hooked up to Rotel seperates. I have a Denon 887 so the sound is a little different than the Rotel. My RTi12's were my first speakers so when I first got them and bi-amped them to my Denon and they sounded wonderful. 5 months later I've been able to bring the 683's home to demo. I'v also bi-amped these sending 105 to ups and 105 to the downs. Obviously there is a big difference in sound especially in the mids and highs. That FST driver sure is different than the polks mid driver. I'm new at describing speakers so my words might not come out right. The most obvious difference is the clarity in the mids and highs it's like everything is much clearer and seperated. I don't want to say the RTi12's are harsh but thats what it sounds like to me, the B&W's are much more softer and natural. Vocals are alot different with the 683's, they are very clear and not bright like the RTi12's. Thats all i know of so far but i will post alot more when my pair arrives on Nov. 5th

I heard a pair in a fully treated room, they sounded beautiful. I almost bought them, but I'm stuck on dual concentics.

I may have to swing by next time I'm working up there.
Got any of these hooked up in the store to a MC275 yet?
