It sounds like the start of a nice system. It seems to have some balance. Nothing wrong there man.

I just got my Polk speakers as the first part of my new Home Theater 'project'.

I decided to hook up a pair of RTi4s and the PSW303 to my current/ancient 'stereo' system just to see what they would sound like.

My current stereo set up is:
    Adcom GFP-555 Preamp
    Carver M-1.0t Power amp
    Sony DVP-NS300 DVD
    Koss CM/1030 Speakers

I disconnected the Koss Speakers and first went with just the RTi4s on a pair of 30 Sanus Natural Foundation stands separated by about 8 ft and 1 ft off the wall.

I popped in Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon to give these speakers a first listen to and sat on the sofa at a direct midpoint between the speakers about 10 ft away.

I was pleasantly pleased with the sound of just the bookshelf speakers.

The sound was open, detailed, with a 'soundstage' that was an improvement over the Koss speakers (whose big attraction is their efficiency and power handling).

But, as has been noted elsewhere, the low/mid bass of the RTi4s...well...adequate is a suitable term to use.

I then hooked in the PSW303, placed it just to the inside of the left front speaker and about a foot off the wall, then made some adjustments to the low pass and volume to be about in 'the middle'.

I restarted the CD and sat back down again and was even more pleased/amazed at the sound that now came from the setup!

The dynamic range of the music was quite impressive (to me) - the PSW303 really gave a solid foundation to the RTi4s and made the combination feel relaxed and smooth from top to bottom.

Forget the HDTV for now!! I'm rediscovering just the musical experience again of a much improved system!! :)

And I got such a deal on the PSW and RTI4s - I'm very pleased!!!

Welcome to our new members. The RTi line is a great way to break into stereo or HT, great value and sound.

    Enjoy your new systems.
