Need Help with RM3300 Satellite Speakers

I am having a low volume problem with 2 of 4 my rm330 satellite speakers. After connection to my onkyo tx-sr605 receiver, 2 of these speakers have very low volumes. I recently moved, and just unpacked and installed these speakers today. The speakers were bubble wrapped and packed very carefully for the move. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

i would try to connect the 2 speakers with the low volume problem to different speaker connectors on your Onkyo receiver and see if they are still low in volume. check each one on a speaker connector you know is good.
this will help isolate if it's a speaker problem or a receiver problem.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

i have tried connecting the two problem speakers to different speaker outputs on the receiver, and they still exhibit the low volume problem. I also tried connecting the two good speakers and they work fine with any of the speaker outputs from my receiver. I'm pretty sure the problem is with the speakers and not the receiver. I removed the grille from the speaker, and did not notice any damage to the cones of the speaker. Is there any way to diagnose if maybe something was disconnected or damaged inside the speaker?

Strange. I find it hard to believe that two speakers go bad exactly at the same time (during transit/carefully packed).
Did you try hooking the higher volume speakers to the wires that the lower ones were connected to? Don't move the wires, just hook the higher ones up to them. Maybe it's the wires themselves causing the problem.
Please post here when you find what's wrong.Be gentle, I'm new to all this...

Yes, I tried this as well, and have the same results...2 speakers work fine, and the other two have very low volume. After taking a closer listen this morning, the tweeter in the rm3300 seem to be putting out sound, but the mid-range does not put out any sound at all. This is the case for both speakers. Can I send these to polk to be repaired? I live in San Diego, and it looks like they have a repair facility here.

i'm not familiar with your speaker.. but if you can. open it up and check to see if maybe a wire came loose from the speaker.. the mid range speaker in each one could have a wire loose.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

You could always ohm out the speaker without any disassembly , If the midrange driver lead dropped off in shipping you will only see the tweeters crossover ( Prob only a simple 6db per octave non polarized capacitor in series with the tweeter for those small sat speakers ) and it will probably read in the megohms scale on the dvm...counting up or down as it charges/discharges.
Measure one of the working ones as well to get a base measurement ( Those will prob be around 6 to 7 ohms if they are rated at 8 ohms ) ....basically looking for a difference in measured readings between good/bad speakers. Or do what Danger said , and pull the mid if you dont have a dvm...at least do those two before sending in for repair. Good luckThe first rule of Fight Club is you don't talk about Fight Club -
Hello,
You may package the speakers and send them to Polk Audio, 2550 Britannia Blvd., Suite A, San Diego, CA. 92154. Please include a short note giving us your name, address and daytime telephone number. Or, you may telephone the service department at 1-888-267-5495 if you prefer to drop off the speakers for repair.
