Not sure if these are still available, but someone one the Seattle area may like to see if they are still available. They aren't talked about much in the forums anymore. but i know they were once a fav of quite a few polkies.

these do not belong to me or anyone I know.

There isn't much talk about this line... What are these comparable to? The reviews on the website are pretty one-sided. :)
They were originally $1000 a pair, which is more than the CRSs and most of the Monitors and RTAs!

The old rt16's where one of my personal favorite speakers. I owned the rt12's. They are just nice easy to listen to speakers which have that old Monitor type sound. They are alittle better in my opnion. they went for around 1000.00 when new. 1998 is the time frame for then If I remember correctly.

I bought a pair new in 1997 and sold them in 2003. They were a good speaker, but with limitations. The 2 7" drivers had plenty of slam, but the bass was muddy. I tried all kinds of Dacron stuffing, but I could not get the mixture right. I also upgraded the spikes, which helped, but muddy still.

The SL2000 tweeter was too bright and muddy also. A good speaker, but not a reference IMHO.

venom, are you sure it has an SL2000 tweeter? This pair certainly doesn't

I may be off on the model # of the tweeter, but they were bright. The RT16's used the same Trilaminate tweeter that was in the RT7's, RT20's, CS350, LS/FX, RT55 and the SRT system. The tweeter was then changed to the "i" series, I never had this series but I heard the tweeter was better, not as bright. Hope this helps.
