For sale is the Odyssey Khartago, with Stratos Mods --- has upgraded caps, red boards, silver face, groneberg internal cables, upgrades transformer to the stratos transformer...

Pretty much a hot rod amp -

TONS of power, EXTREMELY clean and refined...

Redefines what goes in, comes back out -- very honest and accurate amp...

Selling to get the bigger and the badder!

Price is a nifty $700 + shipping, was purchased new a couple months ago -- sells new for around 1,200 with all of the upgrades....

Original packing, manual, transferable 20 yr warranty - awesome stuff

    I'm interested.

The only criteria I am looking for in this amp is the ability to switch on/off this amp with a 12V trigger. Does it have that option?

That way when I turn on my projector, I can have the lights dim, the amps fire up, and everything turn on with the push of ONE button.

    No
But you need to leave this amp on at all times**

It takes it about 3 days to fully charge up.

YIKES! How much $$ on my electric bill will that be?

I'm basically looking for an amp that can be switched by a preamp/receiver/projector. And that's the only thing holding me back from this amp.

Otherwise, it's a great piece and I'd love to have one.

Its not a big draw on the electric bill --

It just has alot of capacitors...

Any amp you buy will work better being left on - it will sound better, last longer, whole nine yards

Will this amp work well with my Definitive Tech BP10Bs?

I loved it with the DTs --

Much much better than the B&K - more power, more accurate, smoother, much cleaner, no bloated bass.

My DTs are modded though. They sounded VERY different from the stock BP10Bs I heard in a local hi-fi store. Meaning that they didn't have as much bloated bass as the stock ones.

So isn't getting this amp correcting something I already have corrected?

    Dude, I modded your DT's...

I rebuilt them by hand, blood sweat and tears for like 3 months. I know what they do and cant do...

One thing in the stock enclosures, with the lack of bracing -- they still have extra bass... and the Khartago has such a tight bass reproduction -- it really cleans that up...

    Jeeeez lol

If you think they are accurate now, then you really will be surprised...

I think they are much more accurate than the stock BP10Bs. I don't know what more I could get out of them - my Onkyo receiver sounds great with them!

Seriously though, in a few years I am going with a totally new system, new projector, Polk LSi15s, SVS Ultra, the whole nine yards.

I just need to pick out an amp. But I really need that switching capability.

I'm afraid of buying from Sid. I bought his Definitive Tech BP10Bs which he claimed were USED. Yet when I got them they looked new!

I paid for used and got new? WTH?

On a serious note, Trey is a wonderful person to deal with.

    Forget the watts...
this amp plays well above its specs.

I believe it's actually rated at 130 wpc. I suppose the 150 comes from a bench test?
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

    And then some --- lol

Here is a pic of a stock Khartago -

    khartago-in-big-white.jpg

You are getting a MUCH MUCH larger transformer, twice the caps

    Stratos board...

Nothing Khartago about this amp - Stratos in a smaller case...

So if you want a Stratos, but dont have the room for it - this is your ticket.
