I recently bought a pair of used RT2000p's and one of the crossovers is shot, All burnt up. So In trying to figure out what to do I have found that my crossover doesn't quite match the one in the schematic from this thread,

http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38755

Here's a picture of the one good crossover,

I would like to have a pair of new crossovers built but now these differences have raised some questions.

If anyone has any insight on this I would appreciate it.

There are no more stock crossovers from Polk, just european ones.
I think I have one good stock crossover.

I don't quite understand your response. Your saying you have a stock RT2000P crossover? Does it look like the picture of mine?

Well my crossovers do say RTE2000P would that mean there the European crossover? Or can you tell from the picture I posted above if that is the European version?

Sorry I can't shed any light on the differences in your XO and schematic but I find one aspect in RT2000 XO schem that is unusual. They are using a large (400uf)cap in series with the woofer which would act as a hi pass filter therefore possibly reducing the bass extension.I have never seen this done before in a two way design and can only guess its purpose is the reduction of excursion at very low frequencies and protection from a DC voltage.Inertesting.

RTE means European, but check with Ken in Polk cust service, be sure,
I have a stocK crossover around here somewhere, but it ain't gonna do you no good I do not believe.

I had a crossover go bad in my RT 2000P's, had to order two new european crossovers.
There IS a difference in sound, the european crossover smoother, more laid back.

Do you know if they still sell the euro crossovers? How much where they?

If anyone has a picture of the european crossover or a schmatic I would appresheate it.

Also ka7niq just to be clear is it 48 for a pair or just one?

JUST one, but ask for Ken, and maybe he will feel sorry for you since Polk does not have the ONE crossover you need, making you buy two.
Polk cust service is the BEST, for real.
They take care of their people.
Ask for Ken in cust service :)

The European crossover sounds different, it is smoother, more laid back.

Be aware of that, ok ?

Some like a brighter sound, like the original RT 2000 P crossover

Well I haven't really listened to them so I wont really know the difference.. The reason I would like to find a euro schematic is to confirm if I already have euro xovers thus I would only need to buy one. I suppose they should be able to confirm when I call.

Just thinking out loud here but Ive read the RT2000i's arnt so "bright" maybe the euro crossovers are the same as the RT2000i's? Speaking of the RT2000i's it would be possible to just replace mine with 2000i's no?

not that it's impossible.. but why would a pair of American Polk speakers have Euro crossovers in them? and if they do.. what's the difference? You may need to rebuild them yourself if Polk doesn't carry the one you need.

Well I'm not the original owner. So I'm just trying to figure out whats up with them, And mine definitely don't match the schematic of whats supposed to be the crossover.

I'm hopeing I can confirm that mine are the euro crossovers so then I can just buy another if they have any left or get the euro schematic.

Polk re designed the RT 2000P crossovers for the European market.
The Europeans like a less bright, smoother sound I am told.
My RT 2000P's crossover went bad, Polk had no more of them.
So, I had to use what they had.
All they have left are the European versions of the crossovers.

I like the stock ones better.
The European crossover is a little TOO laid back, but I am i a pretty big room.
