edited October 2007 in 2 Channel Audio
I just finished 2 hours of listening to my system and it was the best I've ever heard it. The main change I made a couple of weeks ago was an IC (see October's issue of Affordable Audio e-zine for the brand and review).

In the past my motivation for new gear was to hear the proper tone of every instrument distinctly, and at one point I got there. But I knew there was something missing, so I kept searching. Then I finally stumbled upon what I really wanted to hear -- music.

At this point you may be saying, "WTF is he talking about?" Well, if you listen to live music, you're not gonna necessarily hear every instrument distinctly. The instruments ebb & flow with one another along with the vocalists. There should be "synergy" here, not just singers and musicians jammin' together. Yes, I realize this sounds quite rudimentary, but sometimes, in the midst of our weekly tweaks, we forget what music is really supposed to sound like.

But the biggest impression my "new" system made on me this evening was the emotionality conveyed by the vocals. It was freakin' phenomenal. At one point one of the female vocalists made my nuts tingle. Now that's what I call, "music appreciation.":p

Geez, you guys are a bunch of comedians.

Here's the bottom line -- if your music doesn't make the ol' **** sacs tingle, then your system needs another amp, CDP, cables -- hell, anything that will make it better. So man up and take the tingle challenge.

P.S. -- for the ladies on the board, this thread is not applicable due to your lack of sacs. However, you are encouraged to share your own personal experiences with us. Post pics, please.

We could enjoy our music if the non-sacs didn't talk so damn much!;)

Well, around here the ladies do have sacs, and they can be made to tingle by a variety of visual, aural, tactile, manual and even environmental stimuli. However, those sacs are located higher up on the anatomy. If you have no familiarity with female sacs, a review of the "tasteful babe" thread will provide a useful tutorial. This pic from the aforementioned thread should get you started: Female Sacs Example.

I hate to break the news to you, DK, but the protrusions on women's chests aren't testicles.

True. But I was refering to the sacs themselves rather than what's in the sacs.;)

I honestly don't remember. It was either Lizz Wright, Niki Haris, or Maya Azucena.

Amen to that.Too much tweeking, not enough listening.I do all my tweeking within the first 30 days of getting a new piece and thats it.I know what I am looking to hear and won't stop untill I have it done. After all,is it not for the music that we are all in this thing? There will always be something bigger and better out there, but you have to know when to rest your wallet for awhile and just enjoy the music.I find that a well recorded CD is the best tweek, not really a tweek, but sure makes a difference when you find one.

Oh...and...um...also glad you don't have any sacks either Cathy, wouldn't want to change my opinion on you.:)
