Cobham and Spectrum.I remember the day we all sat down in front of Pete Maran's stereo, and heard that album for the first time when it came out. Pete had the flagship rig in our neighborhood. By the time we sat down and listened to Spectrum, it was a pair of AR-3a's in front, a pair of AR-2ax in back, the AR Integrated Amp, the AR-XA table with Shure V15, and the Dynaco Quadaptor. Needless to say, it was a jaw dropper. We had heard him play with The Mahavishnu Orchestra, but this was completely different. All written by Cobham, and obviously all written to showcase his incredible talent.

Hi George,
If these are available, please:
Joe Ely - Musta Notta Gotta Lotta (Texas blues? BlueMD gets dibs)
Hubert Laws - Crying Song (A CTI from the 70's)$5
Curtis Mayfield - Heartbeat (unopened 1979)$4
Steve Stills - Illegal Stills -
Okay, got everybody's list so far. Only need a shipping address for Mr. Treitz.
THANK YOU GENTLEMEN! -

Well i can recreate half that mix as I've a set of AR2ax and 3a's sittin in the basement. Would have to run through my vintage Sony 2251 TT and Dynaco 410 amp and a vintage Sony or AGI preamp to complete the vintage sound though.
I've mentioned in other threads that i saw him at Phila's Main Line Theater back in 1975 and got showered in the wood chips flying off his drum sticks. AWESOME show; ears are still ringing from the horn section 15 feet away. -
I never saw anybody bring a whole bucket of drumsticks on stage with them, and proceed to tear right through them. Not even Moon the Loon did that. It wasn't a small bucket either.
Looks like everybody gets what they want, but Ricardo gets beat to the Joan Baez by Fred. -

Hate to be a party pooper but I had dibs on the Mayfield album before BlueMDpicker. Sorry Blue. -
I was just going to print that. I'll make that up to Mike. Trust me. In fact, I'll go out on a limb and say he'd rather have this rare Steve Winwood and Friends that I forgot to list. Friends like Ginger Baker, Jack Bruce, Sonny Boy Williamson.....
PLUS, he obviously knew that Cobham was almost the CTI house drummer, and is on the Hubert Laws album.
RICARDO! I salute you having the cojones to go with that Japanese album. -

If it is not acccepted i would love first dibs, but that your choice for an offer.:o -
You call me the day Mike P. passes up a rare blues record.
-
What a game....was going for the Packers....but anyone could have won.
Ok; just saw that Fred takes Joan; that's fine (as if I had a chance here...)
Those japanese strings sound cool._________________________________________________

GG: I went shopping again and am taking a flyer on most of these. I don't know any of them other than OJays and Cocker. Did a quick google on these artists and thought they were worth the try. Could you PM me a total?
Thanks.
Tom Browne - Yours Truly
Jimmy Castor Bunch - Maximum Stimulation
OJays Family Reunion
Aldo Nova Subject
Michael Henderson - In The Night Time
Lee Ritenour - Rio
Lee Ritenour - Rit
Lonnie Liston Smith Live
Joe Cocker Sheffield Steel -
Lee Ritenour knows his way around a guitar pretty good, and has been one of my favorites since the mid 70's. I have both his first album "First Course", and "Captain Fingers" on cd. Lonnie Liston Smith is a jazz organ guy ala Charles Earland. He's been around since the 70's as well.
I'll be happy to PM you a total but don't send anything here until the stuff arrives at your home. You're a prior customer, and on the Good Buy/Sell list.
Thanks for the extra selections! -
Just got them a few minutes ago George, they look great. I don't know how you get used albums in such great shape and I really don't care but I will say this.....
I'll be purchasing more from you as they come in. Thanks. Off to listen to them now......~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~ -
I steal them from blind nuns.

Well the nuns keep their vinyl in some darn good shape. Package arrived today and lps in even better condition than described. Looking forward to the next round. -
Guys, I'd like to cut loose the next load of vinyl. Only one person has sent me a check for the last load. I don't like operating like this.
-
This is not cool. Lets pony up, afterall, this dough is for the kids.

You could have a "private sale"...you know...send a PM to those past "good customers who paid quickly" a list and go from there."Just because youre offended doesnt mean youre right." - Ricky Gervais
"For those who believe, no proof is necessary. For those who don't believe, no proof is possible." - Stuart Chase
"Consistency requires you to be as ignorant today as you were a year ago." - Bernard Berenson -
Of course, dealing with George, I have no problem with sending him the money and letting him send the goods AFTER he gets paid."Just because youre offended doesnt mean youre right." - Ricky Gervais
"For those who believe, no proof is necessary. For those who don't believe, no proof is possible." - Stuart Chase

Please don't misunderstand. I don't doubt the integrity of the individuals involved AT ALL. I just don't need record-keeping headaches.
In each batch there is a person who lets it slip his mind, no biggie, not like "I" haven't been there. On this one it seems the planets all aligned and almost everybody fell into that category -
George, my check went out as soon as I got your total. PM me if you have not received it._________________________________________________

Guilty! This batch arrived while I was gone for a few days. I just "found" them today and am listening to the first one (Joe Ely) as I type. Sorry boss. You're checks in the mail today and I love you!

George I may be a new customer.I like speakers that are bigger than a small refrigerator but smaller than a big refrigerator:D

Sounds good Scott. I think there's a little something for everyone in the upcoming load. Technics SLBD-25 huh. You're an AR-XA or XB guy. Find one of those.
I love you too Mike. -
George, the check was sent out this week. The LP's arrived here either the 31'st or Feb 1.

George it was a freebe . Part of my brothers HS graduation gift. I unpack it from its original packaging a month ago after 20 years. I am feverishly looking for a vintage table right now. I do not know if I am an AR-XA or XB guy yet. I have seen a few of the AR tables for sale and they look pretty nice. I will have to do some research later today t see if I am a XA or XB guy.
Stay tuned.

Not passing judgement Scott, a free table is a good table. I'm not real familiar with a lot of Technics stuff, but every once in awhile I get a Technics table that somebody really loved. They seem to be reasonably good performers.

Sorry George I did not mean for my post to have a tone to it. I was in a hurry this morning. I was just saying that I rescued it from the trash bin at my brothers house and so far is serving me well but I know there is much more. It is just fine for my snap crackle pop GW finds. I am loving vinyl and I am not listening to cd as much now.

PM received and a very nice offer that was totally unnecessary, but another example of forum members going above and beyond. PM on its way back. -

Hmm.. I wonder who that might be...
I don't expect special treatment unless the next load has those vintage, classic, still sealed, rare, original, Beatles, Zappa, Zep, Dylan, Elvis... for $3 each.:D
