Carly Simon – Boys In The Trees (I have great love for this album cover)
I hope you have a copy of Playing Possum, George (he said, leeringly).

    5835.jpg

I shall keep monitoring the list... it is frightening how many of the above I actually already have.

That may be the hottest album cover of all time, tho' the album was mediocre. I preferred her earlier albums (although she continued to put out good stuff in dribs and drabs).

Thank YOU Fred. I didn't do bad on the dibs this time. Looks like about a 50% correct ratio. I would've dibbed you the Supremes anthology too, but I thought I already sold you one.

I have a lot more albums, from someone who had impeccable taste. I'm just getting my **** kicked trying to find the time to sort and inspect them. Also trying to find out just what mint Norman Granz, "Jazz at the Philharmonics" from the 40's should command. Stuff like that.

The big band is going to happen a lot sooner than the classical. The classical gets pushed further back every time I get a new load.

Is there any interest in really old big band? Benny Goodman and stuff like that? If I want these they're mine. They include maybe 20 or 30 Benny Goodman albums, where each album is one nights live recording at this hotel or that dance club. They are probably absolutely mint.

CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Damn! I subscribe to one friggin' thread on the forum and you throw me a "screw" ball, George. :p

Thanks for the "dibs"--they look good to me. I'm headed for Chitown and will catch up/settle up near the end of the week. I have some other business forthcoming soon just north of you. Perhaps we can get together then?

Doro, I'd have to dig a bit to find those, but there's more than a couple of them. I'm finding stuff (good jazz) on Verve, Impulse, Riverside, labels like that. No Blue Notes that I recall seeing. The Jazz at the Philharmonics may be re-issues of the original recordings by Granz.

Darla, I have a 3 album minimum. You like the cover too? Be happy to hold onto Bella Donna until you see something else, or you can see about the stuff Russ just got from Pablo Escobar's estate.

Mikey, I hear you and a meet is always possible. The stereo room is trashed with vinyl and excess stereo stuff. We'll have to just sit around and speak ill of other people if that's okay with you. I have the Hall & Oates "Live at The Apollo" and have enjoyed it for years.
