The hand off was made today. Thanks for picking it up John. It was good to see you again, sorry I was a little rushed.

Good to see you again Scott. I was very rushed myself. I managed to hit the camera store and make it to the gun range in time to meet my shooting partners!

The H&K MP5 with full on suppressor was major badass! Everyone should have this for home defense. Take out a half dozen baddies without waking the wife and kids! ;)
    No excuses!

Can anyone comment yet on what this thing sounds like? I'm very curious. I just recently installed my new set of (in-wall) speakers, and my new system includes a DSW-500. (I wasn't willing to risk installing an in-wall sub.) The DSW is adequate - and I mean that in a positive sense. It's okay. But I'd still prefer more punch. Can anyone compare the DWS-500 to this new sub?

    Thanks.

. Zone B: very old pair of Polk M 5's

    Okay, that's fair enough, I suppose. :)

So, when are these new subs supposed to be released to the public for sale?

Are these the same line of subs that were originally announced and shown almost a year ago? Why such a long gestation period?

    http://www.audioholics.com/news/trade-show-coverage/2006-cedia-expo/polk-new-line-of-subwoofers

I appreciate any info you can share.

    Thanks.

The demo is sorta private and Polk is keeping the reviews and comments private for research purposes right now. I'm not sure when these hit the streets as I'm sometimes that last person to know.

They were originally announced and shown at CES, long before CEDIA. The timeframe has been long due to some changes and revisions, which happens with most new products.

    Hi Dorokusai,

Would it be possible for me to get one of these puppies to try out also? I think I read in an earlier part of this thread that you wanted to keep it relatively local to your area. I'm located in between Wilmington, DE, and Philadelphia. Is that too far? I'd be willing to drive down to MD to pick one up.

I think I'm in a good position to be a tester. I have an all new Polk set up - which I believe you're read about in other threads here. I have the DSW500, so I could compare it against the new one. :)

    Interested? I appreciate your consideration.

    Thanks.

Sorry, just noticed the request. Unfortunately, this is a very limited area demo by Polk's request. If I extend it past the original idea, more people get involved, some people get angry that it's not coming to them and it's not worth the hassle. There is too much going on right now in regards to free Polk demos. We simply can't get everyone on each round.

We try to get these demos in different parts of the country and there are a host of these that are strictly privately handled.

I'll will definitely look into what we can do for the DE, NY, NJ area as well as an earlier request for a Northwest demo. Just hang loose.

I see that the MicroPro Subs are finally on sale to the public and listed on the Polk web site. Does that mean the demo phase is over, or might they still be available to demo?

Also, now that they are on sale, are the folks who have demo'd them allowed to post comments now?

    Thanks.
