Polk Unofficial Energy Spendings "Brown/Red" Thread

In light of the other thread I decided to start this one. Not so much about how you "waste" energy so to speak, but what you do to contribute to really using it to it's full potential.

Also, discussion of other topics to help conserve are appropriate as well. Such as relocating to Mars(hence the "red"), building a city at the bottom of the ocean(hell yea Bioshock people), etc.

As I previosly stated, my AC is constantly on, and probably won't be off till late december. I also have atleast 4 computers that are always on, as well as 3 printers, 2 monitors, router, and other various computer electronics.

I usually forget to turn the lights off as well when I leave for the day.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, when I redid my HT, i added in 3 new circuits for my external amps and TV relocation.

A/C set to 72 in the summer, heat set to 70 in the winter. What's the point if you can't be comfortable in your own house!?!

Replacing my factory tires on my truck with ones 5 inches taller increased the rotational mass as well as my aerodynamic drag.

Good to hear. Long as you realize that all your efforts aren't going to make a dent in energy convservation then you're all set.

I see no point in changing my quality of life. Earth will be OK for myself, my kids, their kids and probably a few more generations after that. By then hopefully they forget who we were and the fact we did nothing and lived the good life.

    Oh really???
I'm challenging everyone that's healthy enough to sweat it out this summer and see how much electricity we can save. Polk employees are welcome to participate also. Retail employees may want to think twice before committing

Why? I'm fed up with these utility prices and the heat doesn't really bother me that much as long as I have a floor fan blowing on me. Also our perspiration helps sweat out toxins and such that we inhale and digest from the environment and our food itself.

How many seats does it have though?

Mine only has 2 but it gets 13 MPG.

I used the dishwasher last night to wash 6 dishes, 4 glasses and a pile of knives, forks and spoons. Oh and a spatula.

Yesterday my newspaper was completely soaked all the way through, so I put it in the microwave to dry it out. Took about 25 minutes of energy away from the earth.

It's not much, but every little bit helps to bring about the end.
