I have a PSW140 subwoofer that is probably about 5 years old and all of a sudden decided to stop working. I unscrewed the back of the speaker box and the fuse was blown. I went to Radio shack and they sold me fuses that they said would work for the speaker. I put the fuse in the speaker and it makes a humming noise for about 2-5 seconds and blows the fuse. Any suggestion on how to fix the speaker would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Jon

    Hello,
Thanks for posting on the Forum, sorry you're having a problem with the PSW140. From your description it is likely a problem with the bass amplifier's circuitry. It would be best to go ahead and remove the amplifier from the cabinet, similar to what you did to change the fuse, but disconnect the red wire and black wire from the woofer itself. Then box the amplifier up and send it to: Polk Audio, 2550 Britannia Blvd., Suite A, San Diego, CA. 92154. Please include a short note giving us your name, address and a daytime telephone number.
    Regards, Ken
