Hello fellow polksters and speaker lovers. I recently ordered a psw1000 to go with my new lsi system for less than $600 new. It hasn't arrived yet. I just ran into a listing for a velo spl-800r for about the same exact price, only one year old.

Is there a huge difference between the two. Is one clearly superior to the other. I really don't care about having a remote..

Its my personal opinion that neither speaker is so superior over the other to second guess your purchase of the PSW1000.

    Rest easy...
Do you hear that buzzing noise?

I just got my PSW1000 yesterday to compliment my newer LSI 15's, and I have to say it does so very well. The new Polk sub is replacing a Velodyne CHT-12, and so far I've been very pleased. Not to mention it's built like a brick $hit house, and looks gorgeous. You'll be pleased with your purchase. Nice price, too. I got mine for $699.00 shipped.

In some ways I'd say the Polk is a better sub. When it comes to music. I'd say the Velodyne has more punch for music but that also depends on placement and room size.our purchase of the 1000 is fine. I'd wouldn't mind it.
