After almost a month of waiting, I just received and connectted my lsi 15's and center. (still waiting for surrounds to arrive). Problem is I think something is wrong with my right speaker. The sound coming out of the left and center is clear and loud. But the right is very soft. so soft that if i turn down the left speaker, i can barely hear the right speaker. I already double checked my speaker connections. before i call jr, i wanted to check to see if i was doing something wrong. i had previously run audessey set up with my onkyo 805 on my old polks and have yet to rerun it. so i turned that off. Any ideas.. so so frustrated right now.... help a newbie.

I would suggest you triple check your connections, then swap the speaker position. If the problem follows the speaker, there you go. If not, you might want to double check the settings on your equipment.

I'm sure the forum can help you, relax, we're here to help.

    • Make sure the nuts on the back of the speaker (with the brass jumpers beneath them) are all good and tight.
    • Make sure not even one strand of the speaker wire from the red side (positive) is touching anything on the black side (negative) and vice versa (at the amp and speaker).
    • As already mentioned, swap the speaker cables at your Onkyo for left and right. Does the problem follow the wires or stay in the same channel?

Let us know - and we will help where we can. BTW - welcome to club polk.. :)

ok now if feel like a hypochondriac! i had a trunk near the right speaker and moved it 2 inches away and really do think it worked (is that possible) that being said i still think the left speaker sounds slightly louder. could that be due to the fact the wall is closer to the left speaker. i had read these speakers were finicky, wow.

Make sure that your speaker wire termination points (binding posts) are not tightened down on the speaker wire's insulation. I've done that myself and had similar results to what you describe. Then when moving the wires around the insulation pulled out and I had better wire to terminal contact which restored the audio level. Of course the terminal was now loose....
