    1. Find a buyer for your existing truck.

This is especially good advise! When you don't need to sell right away you can as what you want without reservation. If no one bites you can wait until someone does. People can tell when you NEED to sell something.

Oh I did the software for the DVD sytems in the 04/05 F150s! I like the truck myself, and if you really will keep it for 10+ years buying it isn't so bad. Plus the car payments will help with building your credit.

I'd also look into a brand new one. Trucks don't sell, so you could get one at a great price and maybe that 0% interest rate. In the end it may be cheaper to go new (ok that maybe stretching it, but its worth looking into).

    Enjoy

I don't want to sell it privately for a few reasons

To me, its financially smarter to cut my losses, even if I have to get rid of it for a lil less than normal.

With what I have invested in the truck, everything except oil changes and gas - I will make 300 dollars in my pocket. Which isnt fantastic and I could get more selling privately. But not enough to warrant it sitting in my yard for months and months at a time.

But I am picking up the truck tommorow night. Loan went through and we are a go.

As for going 100% new... I'm just not willing to be in that much debt... just no way... 30,000 for a similar truck is just not worth it... lol

I'm getting this for basically a third the price.

So I can't buy the truck?

With the way you take care of things I'd bet this truck is in PERFECT condition. Just like my Definitives.

Glad to hear you're picking up a new F-150. I'm going to be purchasing one myself in a couple months, but I'm going for a brand spankin' new F-150 Lariat Supercrew 4x4. Hope you like it. I drove a '96 F-150 for almost six years until I bought my '02 Durango. That 150 seemed unstoppable.

Theres ALOT of options in the price range this truck I am getting is in, but honestly - I'd pay ALOT more to get the new interior and exterior. Phenominal looking truck through and through. Looks high class instead of let me go load up the cows.

    I dig it.

Agreed. The new F-150s have wonderful interiors, especially the Harley-Davidson model. Looks stunning.

This is pretty much what I am getting - except...

    1) Mine is higher...
    2) Mine has chrome bed rails
    3) Mine has a vinyl bed cover (Really like that)
    4) And a black bug shield and "shields" around the door windows...
    5) No white letter tires
    6) And black step tubes
    7) Chrome fender trim...

Add all that together and you get an extremely mean looking truck...

Was the previous owner a smoker? Only real reason to have those 'window shields', as far as I can figure.

    Nope....

If he was, I wouldnt be buying the truck.

Two things automatically disqualify vehicles for me...

    1) Bumper stickers
    and 2) Smoke Smell

Yes, I am anal about vehicles.

THey're nice for those of us who like fresh air, even when it's raining. They basically allow you to have your windows open a bit even in the rain without getting wet.

Nice look'n set of wheels. I put over 50k on a Ford F150 in one year, thing ran like a tank, not a single problem. I ran that thing hard too, it belonged to the company I was working for at the time. You'd be surprised at what those trucks can handle.

    Enjoy your ride!

The later model F150's are nice. I'm still driving a 98'.
My wife wants me to give mine to my son, give me her Mountaineer,
and buy a new Charger. I don't want to give up my damn truck.
I don't think she gets it. I'd rather fix up the kid with a good Honda or Toyota, and keep the F150 for a while.

    Nice truck........

I've always had a thing for trucks and if it wasn't for the gas prices and how much driving I do I would have owned one last september when I bought my Infiniti.

Next vehicle for me I'm hoping to be a diesel truck depending on gas prices and what I'm doing for work.

Of course you gotta get them used now.

Yummy. My friend has a lightning, those things haul ridiculous ****. So fast....

I believe they were rated as the most dangerous vehicle to give to a teenager because of how fast they are and how light they are in the rear considering they are rwd.
