Dynaudio 140 vs Revel M22

What does anyone know of these two speakers. How do they compare for a simple 2channel mainly music listening setup.

    There both very good spekaers. Personal choice goes into play here. I perfer Dynaudio over Revel. Revel makes some killer speakers and I would be proud to own a pair of them.

    Well i'm looking for a bookshelf with some impressive lower extention. Plus these speakers will be used mainly for music.

    I've never heard the Revel, and can only say that bass extension was the most impressive quality of my new speakers. Right behind that is the unreal resolution and detail.

    Hey bud - I've been in other waters. I've only begun dipping my feet back in this pool. How are things over on your end? Still enjoyin' those Dane's I'm sure! Let me know if you ever catch yourself down in my neck of woods in the near future.

    Things are good over here man. I have been working on the house and we have been enjoying life. Yeah suprisingly I still have my Danes and I'm planning on keeping them for a long time. Funny I have been listening to Focal alot and come to find my Dyn's are still the ****.
    If I make it up that way, I 'll drop you a line man.

    Thanks for the reference Zero, that requires alot of patience the reviewer said it took like 250 hours for these speakers to come into their own. Wow is that serious?
    Looks like the general view is the 140's are the speaker to look at seriously. If can get to the states next year I will audition them for sure.

    Not so fast, if you haven't already plunked down your money. M22's are outstanding speakers as well, and their bass extension is really convincing. I have heard both speakers, but not side by side. My recollection is that the M22's had more down low than the 140's. The 140's may be a tad more neutral than the Revels. You should listen to both with your equipment or similar and preferably in your own listening space before making a final commitment.

    No final committments. They are mainly the speakers i'm looking at for a second listening area. Will prob decided by hmmm jan. when i can spend some extra cash on them. What electronics did you hear them with?

    Anyone else compared these two speakers?

    Musical Fidelity A5 CDP and integrated amp combo were driving the the M22's. This combination sounded very good, with forceful and well-defined bass. Of course the MF amp pushes 250 watts, which really doesn't hurt in that department. I listened to all different kinds of music on this system and really didn't want to stop.

    For comparison I listened to the 140's through a Creek integrated (5153?) and Moon CDP, and a fairly high end Audio Research integrated tube amp and CDP combo. The AR set up was definitely superior with the 140's than the Creek/Moon, which made the speakers sound a bit thin and pinched. Even with some source material like a Grateful Dead concert recording from the early seventies - where the sonics were compromised from the start - the AR and 140's combo did a good job of reproducing a convincing and full concert stage.

    As long as you have a good quality amplifier and source to drive either of these speakers, I think you really cannot go wrong. kn

    Nice analogy!!! Yes thats what the reviewer was saying on stereophile. But as in true in life so is the case in audio good things come to those who wait. Oh zero i just saw on their site the DM2/8 and DM2/10. Both of these seem as though they are being released at Cedia. This seem to be slightly budget version with laminate as opposed to real wood finishes. My interest will be how do they sound.

    Just wondering does anyone know of Emotiva? Are their products any good besides audioholics which seems to give their stuff rave review(prob due to advertising right?) Was thinking about getting one of their Pre/processors http://www.emotivaaudio.com/lmc1.html
    instead of a receiver. The price looks good but is it any good?
