You need to go into the Yamaha's setup menu and turn the subwoofer "on", then set your speakers to small. That will route the bass to the sub.

you said the green light is on, but you didn't say if the volume on the actual sub was turned up. Should be about 1/4-1/2 turn.

Yep knob was more then 1/2 turned.

Although, when I do put it on standby, it turns yellow after like 10-15 minutes.

Also in my manual it says that a LFE IN Light or something like that should be lit up if there is one plugged in..on the receiver display.

    That doesn't show up.

If it goes to standby while you are listening to something then it sounds like your sub is not receiving any signal at all. Does your manual for your reciever have a troubleshoot section for not sub output? or I would call polk customer service and have them walk you through it. Sounds like a setting or your LFE pre out to me.

Try plugging into the the pre-out sub on Yama, then the in or red input on the sub. Make sure your setting in the yama have sub and not none.

I put everything for SUB on. Nothing worked when I put the cable in (L or R). But when I did put the cable in the RED OR WHITE input on the sub, the bass went off but then stopped.

Have you tried using speaker wire to connect to the high level inputs and then connecting your speakers to the output on the amp?

wild stab in the dark here, but if you go into your test tones setting, what db is your sub set at? see page 56 in your yamaha manual if you don't know how to do it.

I've talked to Polk and Yamaha customer service. They said, it could be the receiver...

I'm sure your door will be banging down after you just said you were sick.

As for your last question, I'd just ditch the 505 and look into what you can afford right now. There's a ton of subs out there to p/u that would put a smile on your face.
