With the price or the design? :p These work best on Hallo-ween :D

Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

I've heard them work. A couple of the Dallas Audio Club members have them, and so does Vu and High End Audio in Plano. I don't know how room dependent they are, but I've heard it, subtle, but there.

    Cheers,

For $1,000 and ugly as they are, I hope they are better than subtle.

On a 60K+ rig, 1K is 'acceptable' for subtle (for most). Is it anything you will see in my humble abode, not likely - monies better spent elsewhere obviously.

It's all a matter of scale.

I have heard a plant make the same "difference". Placed correctly of course. It's called reflections and one could do a lot with other options for that kind of money. For example, try folding your arms back behind your head, cupping your ears, MG room tunes, plants, deflectors...............and the list goes on for miles.

I'd never heard of Shakti before. Are they the "high-end" division of Machina Dynamica?

You could buy an awful lot of room treatment for $1000 and have it blend in much better than those ridiculous things.
For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...

I've often wondered how they sound.
