    Joe,

It looks like the clamp is a very good design by you that fits a need. If you think there is a market for it, it really is worth pursuing. Hell, you only live once!! Crunch the numbers with a smaller calculator, might not seem so bad after all!!

    A smaller calculator. . . you're a regular riot Alice!!!

It would be the same niche market of audiophiles who love vinyl. This clamp as practicle and worthy doesn't hold a candle to the sexy looks of clamps being made today by the turntable manufacturers. However I am confident that it works better in every way (other than looks).

As far as a patent goes, I had a patent pending back in 1987, a full blown patent IIRC costs thousands which I didn't have then and don't have now. I resigned myself back in 1989 when the patent pending was up, that I had to be content knowing that I did what I set out to do . . . not to make a ton of money but to make a better clamp that really works on practically all turntables therefore this is one of my personal achievements that made some people happy. I am content with that.

And if you have a couple of trusted reviewers vouch for that, your problem will be to keep up with demand....

Too bad Joe, as one of the few who has had two of these it is a shame more folks, well what's the sense, there are no more.

For those interested Joe has agreed to do a little talk on the Clamp at the Fest, his best 15-30 minutes on how to use it to flatten your records, maintain it and so on.

    viva The Clamp

    Joe,
it's a sad day indeed. but look at it this way... they are better off out there being used and enjoyed.. instead of sitting in your closet unused. ;)

I nominate The Clamp for the Club Polk hall of fame.

and it really works as described. :)

Joe, I passed on a used Sota Cosmos vacuum table with SME V because of the clamp.

I told the wife you said I was one of 25 instead of one of a kind, and she is prepared to dispute that with you.

Well the Post Office tried to destroy the one that Fireman Dave got but they couldn't. I think you would have to run it over with a steam roller to even come close to damaging it. The biggest problem I've run into are big guys (RT1) which porterhouse steak sized hands (RT1) who force the cap the wrong direction causing it to seize.
