Hey, I posted a thread in the 2-channel and speaker forums asking about big speakers vs small speakers, cause I need some feedback for a newspaper piece.
Just wanted to let you know in case you don't normally see those forums.

Well, I offered advise on the 2 other threads. Maybe if I could get a hard copy of that newspaper I'd give my $.02 here. Yep, my profile says I want it and I actually got one a few months ago.

Micah,
I think the paper is done pretty solid.Continue the tech with Paul,go deeper and deeper every issue like a running print.
Id like to read more about where pol is going whats hot and what on the drawing board.
Wire is always a hot topic in the forum, maybe you guys should conduct a wire shootout of your own and make for a great read article.
What to drive your speakers with, another shootout....amps, receivers..I know about press and companies but with opnions it couldn't hurt.
Upgrades on current or older models would be cool.A look inside models and how they work.......hell I got 2 many Idea's.Fool with them for awhile and I will post more later........

The only problem with some of those topics Dan is that they are matters of personal taste. I think that you will find that Polk will not go out on a limb and essentially endorse a specific brand.
While I'd like to get Polk's opinions on those topics I think it goes against the grain of being an uncontroversial, Polk propoganda sheet.

There's no need to endorse a specific brand Troy, thats not what I was looking for. They where looking for some Ideas and thats what came out. There's tons of things that would work well in a newsletter. They already sell products not made by Polk.
But that wasn't the topic here anyway,we don't see eye to eye.
Other topic's would be Custom Install.Custom Theater's and house audio systems with Polk speakers.
When my theater is finished,Id gladly allow Polk writers to come over and review my system and house audio system....all Polk speakers. That would be cool.Taking a tour of owners and there systems. How they built it and why they choose the products they did.
Troy everything in this hobby is an opnion I believe.I think all products have a rightfull place.Even Bose,KLH and any other picked on brand by many.Dan

Dan, I'm not knocking your ideas, personally, I'd like to see it. The purpose of the paper though is to inform about and promote Polk speakers. If you were to do a wire or amp shootout, or whatever, the natural conclusion is that brand A sounds better than brand B etc. etc, which would in essence constitute an endorsement.
Hey, I'd like to see it but it's not the purpose of the paper.

I enjoy the polk newsletter. I like the DVD & Music reviews. What good is Great Speakers from Polk Audio without great demo discs to show your system off to your friends and family. Keep the newsletter coming.

Hey thanks for the good words, guys, about the newspaper. I'm hard at work trying to compile the next issue for the holidays.
I was looking for some feedback from you about "big speakers" for an article on the RTi150, and you all came thru (on the other forums), so I was able to use some of your quotes in my article. That's cool!
Stay tuned for the paper soon!

Just an aside, Micah, but I would like to see some of the staffs opines on what equipment works well with Polk speakers.Onkyo 696 receiver, Panasonic DVD RV31U,Polk RM6600 w/ 350 sub (rti28's 2nd zone), JVC Dual tape deck, MMF-2.1 Turntable, JVC 5010 CD R. ((its simple, its cheap, it works))

Like what? We use mostly mid level electronics here in the building, like Denon, Onkyo, Panasonic and Yamaha, all of which seem to please Polk speakers. We have some higher end stuff in the main demo room -- Theta and Carver, I think.
We all pretty much stick to this kind of main stuff.
At home, I have Denon and Panasonic (HT), and NAD (2-channel).
Some of the older, more esoteric guys might have tubes and stuff... But they don't come out in the light so we never get to ask em.
