Variance in audio quality has never been for lack of inclusion of the blu-ray spec. The codecs used are by studio. Paramount - mostly lacking in a lossless track. Warner - uses trueHD. But until recently (300 etc.) left it off of its blu-ray versions. Sony - trueHD and uncompressed LPCM for lossless. Disney - uncompressed LPCM for lossless. Fox - DTS-Master Audio for lossless. And in case you were wondering, trueHD gets uncompressed to PCM before it gets to analog and out to the speakers.

This is a good way to get into the formats HD DVD is running the same thing with different movies. I just picked up the xbox 360 HD DVD player and sent in for my 5 free movies. Actually I got 6 free movies because the player comes with King Kong.
I also plan on picking up the PS3 and getting all the free movies for Blue ray. I find it funny the PS3 is rated so high as a blue ray player. It's top 2 with the Pioneer Elite. I have Installed it many times and have been shocked on how damn good it is. For 499.99 and get a game system and media center is awesome. I don't plan on playing games on it but I'm sure my kids will.

My company is owned by Toshiba, so I have to be on the side of the HD format. In reality, I don't know **** about either. I am not a TV person, I am a 95% audiophile. The other 5% is for news and Steeler football. Everything else is is like a foreign film to me.

I haven't gotten my movies yet. Anyone have an estimated turnaround time, from your experience, for the promotion?
