I don't think the RDO is a direct replacement for the Peerless, so some crossover work would be required.
I have the 7B's with Peerless and I don't think I want to change those tweeters...ever.

The RD0 is no slouch and has many of the great characteristics of the original peerless. Note: The RD0's are not a direct drop in replacement. Slight modification is nec. Also the x-over used in Polk's with the original peerless is slightly different than the x-over used with the sl2000.

Anyone has the peerless M5's (or M7 for that matter) schematic?? The trouble shooting sticky doesn't have it.

Yup yup, I saw your thread, but it is unclear to me how the 2 resistors are wired. The newer M7's only have one resistor. Do you mind to take a look? In terms of the other parts (caps and inductors), all M7 except the SL2500 are pretty much the same. As a matter of facts, the xover of the SL2000 M5's and the M7 are the same!!! My gut feeling is that, the schematic of your peerless M7 is also the same as the peerless M5. Once the mystery 2 resistors wiring is known. It should be easy to convert my M5 to use peerless which I have a couple spares!!

EIDT: forgot to ask, was the big cap 27uF or 34uF?

    34uf

Look at the m10 schem. Delete the bypass cap, and put the values I have in place of all parts.

Great, one more dumb a$$ question, which resistor is in series with the 0.23mH inductor, looks like the 2.7?

Roy, sorry for thread jacking. I go with Peerless rather than RD0 for mine :-)

I have both versions of Monitor 5's.
1 has no fuse and I replace tweeters with RDO194's in it.
1 has fuse and peerless tweeters.

I was just looking for opinions about 1 vs the other.

Listen to both RDO194 M5's are a little smoother in sound in my opinion.

    Thanks
