Where are you located? $250+ seems like too much for me, when I got mine last year they weren't going for anywhere near that.

As a point of reference I just sold mine for $200 after they were on here for awhile at $150 with no takers. Although, I also wasn't interested in shipping. They are big and heavy. I think I remember a set in Ohio that recently with no bids at $100 during the first round, then he relisted them.

The 8T's seem to show up more often than the 11T. I think the 11 is an amazing speaker, with a good amp it can almost eliminate the need for a sub, as it easily hits the 30HZ region.

With patience you'll find some local for under $200 (well worth it), otherwise you can pay more for one of the ebay higher cost listings, but at $300 to $400 there might be better choices.

$250 isn't out of line for a pair in minty condition. I sold mine for $225 in the FM and I felt they were easily worth $300 if I was on e-bay. Other than my bases coming apart (typical for these speakers) they were in showroom cond. Condition does make a difference, but $250 is definitely at the upper end but not off the charts.

Also, I don't really know anything about these. But I'm sold on the RTI 10's. Someone is selling me locally for a really really discount price. The thing is, what kind of receiver do I need...is this one good?

    FOR THE RTI 10's?

It appears that timing is nearly ALWAYS everything when it comes to the forum. I can't even remember the last time there was a WTB for RTA11TL's and here I was practically giving away an especially nice pair just two weeks ago, in Chicago.

FittyFieFo, have you inquired about the RTA8T's on craigslist for $100? That'd get you point in the right direction.

Also to answer your question, any RTA11TL's you find will be pushing age 20, RTI10's can still be bought new in stores.

I am pretty much a newby. So this is my 2 cents.

To me the RTA 11t's with the RDO replacement tweeters image much better than the RTi10 and they make drums sound better I believe because of the sealed cabinet and passive radiator design. I think the RTi 10's are a great HT speaker while the are not bad just not great for listening to music. The RTA 11t is also a good HT speaker and IMHO is not a bad speaker for listening to music if you have not already been exposed to SDA technology. I will say I believe the RTi 10's will need more power than the RTA 11t's to sound as good as they should

Either speaker will serve you well.

RTA-11ts are excellent speakers for music, unless you listen to lots of sustained _deep_ bass notes that'll start those little drivers flapping. I switched to McIntosh ML-2Cs when I started listening to large pipe organ music, but that's an extreme case.

Do yourself a favor, instead of the 10's get the LSI9's. I had the RTI8's, loved them then got the 9's and boxed the 8's. About the same price and I don't know why. The LSI9 will knock you out.....Far superior, same price, just do it.

Question: Does anyone use a power converter (power cleaner?) Don't really know the name, but for those confused on what I am talking about, here's a link.

    Do I need one?

Also, what kind of receiver do you recommend with the RTI 10's?
Like what kind of specs should I look for?

So you've heard the RTA 11's and still like the RTi 10's? The RTA 11's IMO are a much more musical speaker.

I'm guessing he never even demo'd the RTA's and is just getting the RTi's because he's impatient :)
