The reason you're winning all those auctions, Mox, is because no one wants those horrible subs.

The appearance of the actual woodgrain veneer will vary due to inconsistancies in the grain itself. There are controls in place to ensure a uniformity of the end result.

Are you able to provide pictures of the aforementioned problem?
Finally dorokusai is a voice of reason. I originally asked a simple question and I received a whole bunch of replies and advice from sidewalk therapists.
I am trying to make a decision for my rear speakers. If in fact the LSi7s are a lighter shade of cherry, I will probably wait and get the FX.

I appreciate your input. You appear to be one of few folks here who are really wanting to talk about speakers.

jeez mox have a little respect. There is no need to talk to anyone the way you are. H9 is doing us the kind curtesy of letting us all know how you play. Don't you dare destroy the awesomeness of this forum or bear the wrath of the guy with the indesipherable screen-name :D

    Asshat seconded.

The first generation LSi cherry was pretty different. It was lighter, and had more of a natural wood grain to it. The newer generation has a much more rich cherry finish, and the wood is smoother to the touch. If the wood looks red and is smooth to the touch, it's the new. If it looks more natural with a natural woodgrain feel, it's the 1st generation.

Roger that. I have 4 LSi15s, cherry flavor. Got the first 2 around 2005, and the other 2 this year. The first are lighter, and the latter are darker. My preferance goes back and forth as to which version I prefer.

So that is what happened??? My LSi9s must be pretty new because they are the darker shade of cherry. The LSi7s that I was looking at using for the rear are almost a maple shade. Too light for my taste but they sound awesome.

I'm trying to figure out which thread is funnier. . . the one with 2Michaud, a nice, friendly person that has good spirited humor. . . or, this one, highlighted by Mox, who is unintentionally the funniest person I've (n)ever met. 2 noobs on different ends of the spectrum.

BTW, unintentionally funny is a backhanded compliment usually amounting to "this guy just doesn't get it" or "so socially challenged it's funny."

Play nice in other people's sandboxes, Mox, and maybe they won't bury you in the sand. Just a thought.

The point is, they are concerned with your methods of doing business.
The folks here are normally pretty helpfull. They are also very protective.
The Polk forum flea market is one of safest I've found. Good deals from great people.
This tends to make members a bit leery of newcomers that seem to
not care so much about their online transactions. Some new members have
gone on to establish themselves as good members. Others go out in a ball of flame.
    The next step is yours.
BTW, yes Polk has not been known for the best subs. Some are ok for the price, some aren't.
Their speakers are normally a good value at their price points. The LSI series are very good,
competing with many other speakers in that tough price bracket.
Good luck with your search for matching speaker finishes. Black tends to solve
    that problem!!!

i'm not sure why these guys are concerned about my business because i am not sure i would do business on a non-regulated site like this.
i have already sold my 2 subs locally so i am now bidding on amps.
i appreciate your input on the speakers. that is all i needed from this site. i wouldnt mind going black with the FXs but having a cherry pair of LSi7s for music would be awesome. my challenge would be to find the dark cherry set.
    btw,
i dont take any of this stuff personally or seriously and i hope these guys dont either.
    Cheers!

The members are the regulation here. I've done remote transactions on both
Polk and Head-fi. Those transactions went ok. EBAY blows for electronics.
Got poor packing and less than advertised product quality.
Make sure to do your homework on the amps. The 4 ohm rating on LSI's eat
many lower end amps for breakfast.

Oh really? A little pompus/presumptious for a new guy aren't you? Making general blanket statements like that is not only non-productive, it's offensive.

Wether or not you feel it's relevent, Club Polk members look out for one another, especially from the "make a quick buck" type, and people who show questionable credibility. Coming on here and insulting numerous well known and respected forum members is NOT the way to stay here long.

While I agree that you didn't deserve some of the comments sent your way, a better option would have been to take the high road; rather than attempting hap-hazard psycho analysis of individuals and the group.

    Steve,
i realize they are some really audio-savy folks on here who have already helped me with some of my polk questions. my general statements was not about everyone.
    Ok, how about this one:
